My wife has small areola's and everyone she knows has large areola's. we are curious to know is this common or is she a "freak" (her words). She says she has man nipples.

What size are yours?
Also, if you have small, what happens when you got pregnant?
What about after pregnancy?

I guess I'd say large, maybe the size of a half dollar? Shes plenty normal, they come in all shapes and sizes, I actually wish mine were smaller.

Mine are about 1 1/5" wide, so I guess that's large? I really don't know what average areola size is for a woman. I'm assuming it usually corresponds with breast size too. My boyfriends areolas are like 1/4 the size of mine.

What sizes are we talking about? Unlike guys, we don't whip ours out and measure. (At least not in the group I run with.)

Mine are too pale to be measured - they blend into the rest of my breast. Never bothered me or any guy that has intimate knowledge of them. I didn't even know this was an issue.

Mine are pretty big, but I am overly endowed so it doesn't look too weird.

Mine are about... 2 inches in diameter. I guess that's large? I have average sized boobs.

They're numb, too. So i don't like them touched or played with, does nothing for me.

In case you wanted to get more specific....

Here is a poll I made some months ago because, I too, was curious about the size of areolae.

I think mine are on the small side. I've never been pregnant, so I'm not sure what happens. But I have had pregnant friends and they said theirs got larger.

For my breast size, my areolas are small. Most women I've seen have areolas much larger than mine, but I don't feel like a freak. My man and I both love my breasts a LOT! I really, really like my small areolas!

Without precise measurements, "small, medium, large" are going to mean different things to different people.

I'm a Lactation Consultant and have probably seen more breasts than anyone I know. I've seen areolas the size of a dime and some the size of a hamburger bun. Neither end is a "freak" that's just how that woman looks. Some are clearly defined and some are so light, you can barely see them.

Mine are about the size of a quarter. That's "small to medium" for what I've seen.

I know mine didn't get bigger since I've had kids, and although some women have a small increase in size during pregnancy, it usually isn't permanent. At least not enough to notice. I've also been pregnant five times and carried 3 to term and breastfed all three of them. Mine are still so light you can barely see them (the areolas, not the kids. The kids are certainly loud enough to be seen!)

This is true for my wife as well. With G/H cup breasts, 1/2 dollar size aureola look normal to me.

Mine are about the same size and they are numb too.I thought I was the only person with numb nipples.

Medium was not an option so I picked other. I dont think having kids made much difference to mine.

I have been through 3 pregnancies and have breastfed total for about 3 years and My areola's have not changed due to pregnancy at all except that they may be a tad bit darker. Mine are about the size of a quarter, my partners is about twice the area of that but neither of us have ever thought about the size being a problem. Everyone varies in shape and size and color, your wife should not think of herself as a freak.

I wonder how other people are measuring their's.I measured from the beginning of my areola to the nipple.Mine is considered large still if that's the way they are measured.If the ruler has to go all the way across going over the nipples then I'm the one that's a freak.

Mine are large, about 2 inches across too. I also do wish they were smaller, but my man disagrees. Of course!
