I used to have small pink ones. But after I got pregnant, they became a tan/brown color and got very large. I would say they're larger around than a soda can. I hate them! :/

Mine are pretty big and and my nipples are rather small. I dont think i look like a freak or anything. I think they look good.

mine are small, You can't really see them they are the same color as the rest of my breast. Although during pregnancy one of my nipples gets darker then the other.

Mine are large. I thought about having them reduced when I got my implants done but decided not to because of the scaring. Now that my boobs are much bigger they don't bother me anymore.

Mine are not dramatically big, but that might be because my nipples are pretty large, at least relative to the rest of my chest, so they seem pretty small in comparison.

I have fat puffy nipples (diameter isn't excessively large but the shape is really puffy). I used to be pretty insecure about them but my current partner showed me how silly I was being. I now love my nipples.

I guess mine are medium, bigger than a quarter but smaller than a half dollar. They're pale but pinker compared to the surrounding skin, especially when I'm ovulating.

Man, one of the worst experiences I had online was showing someone my breasts for the first time and having them say; "Wow, you have huge areolas." Who says that?! He was a prick. Anyways... Case and point being, I suppose mine are kind of big. :/

My areola are quite large. As a teen, when I first started in a sexual relationship, I was quite embarrassed by them. I thought there was something wrong with mine. It wasn't until my first sexual partner saw my chest, bare for the first time, that I felt okay about them. He seemed to be in awe of my boobs and spent more time with them than any other body part during our sexual encounters. Since that first partner, some have even specifically said that that was what they liked best about my chest.
After having two kids, they aren't any bigger or smaller, and honestly breastfeeding was a challenge because of their size, but I imagine the reverse is also true. I think it just comes down to being comfortable in your own skin. Your wife is not a freak, just as I am sure you already know.
