I usually forget to do an "official" exam every month, but I usually see my GYN twice a year and my husband gives so much attention to my boobs that I know something out of the norm would be immediately detected.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 40's, and died the day before her 46th birthday. I've been doing breast exams since I developed breast buds, and taught several of my friends how to do proper ones as well.
For my next major relationship, I taught myself how to check for possible testicular problems, and I'll teach my S/O how to check for breast problems. Do a monthly exam on each other.

Not monthly. But, I love my boobies and play with them quite a bit. So, if I happen to be doing that, I'll do an exam and really feel them out. So far, so good.

I've been growing a lot a fibroadenomas for the last few years, so I check frequently to see if anything has changed.

I do it probably every other month. I don't remember to do it monthly. I should program it into my Yahoo calendar or on my phone so I'll get a reminder!

I try to do this as often as I can. I found a lump in my breast at the beginning of this year, and it scared me really bad. Luckily it turned out to be scar tissue from a wreck I was in about a year earlier. But It scared me enough to check myself.
