I don't mean to derail, but is this your first time using a progestin-only method? If so, you may not be happy with its side effects, and I am under the impression getting implanon removed put back out and in before it expires is a pain, and a bit of a waste.
You could use a progestin-only pill for a few months while still keeping your IUD in to see how your body reacts to the hormones. Assuming you're ditching the IUD because it makes your periods terrible, you won't get a period on the POP, and if you want better pregnancy protection, doubling up is a great way to lower the statistical chance of pregnancy.
I haven't used implanon but my body hates progesterone. If yours likes it, go for it.

I would, but the only progestin only pills here do not have the same hormone. Different hormone and in different amounts= different side effects. I was on the combined pill for a few years but the estrogen gave me migraines.
