From what I've seen on the website, it isn't available in the US (*sad face*).

Nursekitty, I've used other creams and stuff down there and they all do that. I am unsure which ones I have tried over the years. All I know is they all hurt and garlic has worked the best for me so far. I will take your advice about going to the doctor and getting tested for the allergy.

Oh! I also didn't mention this earlier, but I'm thinking the women that P'Gell may have seen may have actually cut or sliced their garlic before inserting. That is definitely risky, because once punctured, the concentrated garlic oils will seep out of the clove. That I could see leading to problems. But the clove itself is pretty innocuous on its own, so long as you haven't punctured it or sliced.

Just another thought. I've also heard of people using wrapping it in sterile gauze to lessen the chance of irritation.

I've heard about taking garlic supplements since it kills bacteria, but never about putting actual garlic inside of you. Interesting.

Thanks for the link - I'm going to try this stuff for my ingrown hairs which drive me insane cause they are ugly looking.
Hope they post overseas.

Never heard of the garlic trick. But then I've never ever had any kind of infection down south. Touch wood that I never get one!

Yes! I never, ever use that OTC crap. I done a lot of blogging and even wrote a few articles that were published on this. I've used garlic cloves and had them clear up overnight. I've also used peroxide and tea tree oil at the first signs of one and had them clear completely. I honeslty don't see why anybody would use that harmful OTC crap. Lol. Yes, garlic does work. I suppose it can be harfmul to some like if you're allergic and if you've got a yeast infection that's been there for a while, it may need extra attention, but I've never had one that didn't resolve with either garlic alone or peroxide alone or tea tree oil.

Never heard of this, but I know garlic will kill pin worms and their eggs. long story short you can get pin worms from biting ur nails eating something with them on it or most commenly playing with dirt. when i was little, i think i was 7 or 8 I would play in the dirt and had gotten pin worms from this. pin worms will travel through your body and then lay eggs in your colon causing your bottom to itch. anywho my mom took me to the doctor and he said to kill the itching in the rear and to kill the worms and eggs stick a sliver of garlic up ur bum with a bit of baby oil. so my mom did it to me and it worked. It killed the worms and made my toots smell like garlic.

You don't need to insert it. Getting it into your system is enough. You can get garlic in pill form too (at your local drugstore, by the vitamins) to make it easier to consume.

I'm not sure if it's helped in the past (it's possible to overdo it, as well). Like the post above me says, also good for killing parasites, if that's ever a concern.

I think the biggest worry for me is inserting it. As I said in a previous post garlic does carry a bacteria sometimes, problem is you never know when that is. I would say that taking garlic supplements or just eating a lot more is very good as a treatment. My grandmother use to make garlic "tea" for ailments

I would also be very careful of using peroxide in your vagina because it can do a lot of harm to mucosal linings. If you wanted to do the natural way please dilute your peroxide with water or you can by weak solutions of it in the drug stores. But please read to see what your concentration is or you can really hurt you vagina

I mean, theoretically, you run the same risk of ingesting those bacteria when you eat raw garlic, as you might in something like pesto. Really, any vegetable might be carrying bacteria and you might get food poisoning.

Didn't work for me, but it didn't hurt either. (I have a very persistent strain of yeast, too, though - none of the OTC or prescription antifungals worked.) Boric acid capsules are the only thing that have worked - sounds sketchy, but I haven't had any problems and finally feel better after 2+ years of trying things. And there is some scientific support for it.

I could taste the garlic as soon as I put it in (I made cuts in the clove before I inserted it). That was kind of weird.

Very true, it's just that garlic carries a very potentially dangerous bacteria and is well known for harboring it. In fact nowadays doctors don't even advocate for eating raw garlic anymore, they tell you take the capsules or at the very least make sure that you cook your garlic.

The biggest issue with putting garlic up your vagina is that your vagina is a beautiful warm, moist environment that is almost the perfect incubator for bacteria to grow, whereas our stomachs have a very strong acid in it that generally kills most bacteria which is why we don't get food poisoning from any raw veggie we eat.

It's possible they cut or sliced it. I don't think any but one or two of the women presenting with chemical burns put it into gauze. They were told to insert it on a string or just by itself.

I've also seen women use yogurt or even Acidophilus intravaginally. The yogurt cause some problems with some women, the Acidophilis few problems... except for the fact that ALL of them still had yeast infections and came into the office for additional treatment. "A little bit" of yeast will soon develop back into a full blown yeast infection. If something only works halfway, or not at all, it's a waste of time, money and one's health integrity.

When you work in medicine, you see a LOT of stuff, not just occasional anecdotal incidents. I've seen thousands of yeast infections. I still think FemStat (over the counter) burns less than the other OTC ointments and works the best and that Diflucan is Gold Standard in Yeast and Thrush treatment.

Plain yogurt has actually always helped me if I catch a yeast infection early. It doesn't do anything if it's too far gone, though.

Just sounds foolish to me. I don't insert anything into my vagina that wasn't designed to go there.

I pee after sex, do not douche, do not use 'feminine washes' or any other chemicals on my vagina, and I am perfectly fine.

Very rarely I will get a mild itch starting down there and go immediately to the store to buy Kefir, which I will then drink one to two teeny glasses of per day, and the itching is always gone by the morning after I buy it but I drink another 1-2 days to be sure there are enough probiotics in my system to work

Totally agree with you there P'Gell. I only stick things up there that are designed to go up there!

We are so careful about what material our sex toys are made of that we won't use jelly material due to safety reasons. The garlic should kinda go in the same boat if you ask me.

I second this, I am allergic to ingredients in Monistat and other suppository yeast infection cures. I can only use a one time oral pill prescribed by my doctor for yeast infections. What you are describing sounds like my allergy. Check with your doctor.
