How did you learn about the clitoris?

Contributor: sillylilkitten sillylilkitten
I feel like I hear a lot of discussions about how so many people, even women, don't know about the clitoris because it's not usually discussed in sex ed. I'm assuming most people here know about it, so how did you find out where/what it is?

Sex ed is where I first briefly heard it mentioned, and then my parents gave me a book where it was discussed SLIGHTLY more. It's pretty overlooked, poor thing.

It was addressed in my health classes for sure, but I remember already knowing about it then.

discovered it myself and did my own research. Sex ed barely told me anything about bodies except for penis+sperm+egg=baby and/or STDs.

Sex Ed, but it's not anything that was went in depth about. It was more like it's a body part the end.

i think i initially heard something about it in biology or anatomy/physiology and continued to do research on my own.

I don't remember.

I'm guessing I learned about it from reading porn, or probably off the internet in general, like off a forum or fan fiction or something.

I honestly don't remember, at least in terms of what the word was.

i discovered it at a young age "on my own," however knew nothing more than it felt good to get touched. I learn more about the anatomy of the clitoris via the internet a few years ago as it was never something that was touched on (excuse the pun) in any public school sex ed class until i took human anatomy in college, where they didn't discuss it in much detail, just that it was similar to the erectial tissue found in the penis (because it's cute and becomes erect like a lil penis when aroused) and was solely for pleasure.

The internet, school in my opinion wasted students time by putting on a video about the chemical reactions that accrue during puberty

I most likely first learned of it in a sex ed book my parents gave me, then forgot about it until I rediscovered it the first time I masturbated. It was a while before I remembered/relearned the name of it, though, and I honestly can't recall when or where that was. Certainly not sex ed class, though - the clitoris got no mention as far as I can recall.

I found it one day when I was about 13. Didn't know what it was, but I knew that it felt good to touch it
