Seconding (or thirding) the condom idea. Also, you could just use plain old saran wrap. Just tear off a sheet large enough to cover the vulva and pubes and put a lubricant on either side.

This is really interesting. I would have thought that there would be more people that have, at one time in their life, had an STD/STI.

I haven't been infected but know of someone who has. The person who infected her didn't know he was infected himself!

A condom with the tip cutoff and slit lengthwise and opened over the pubes, makes an effective dental dam.
So does Saran wrap, which is fun because you can make it any size/shape you want and it stays put pretty well.

I was raped when I was 17 and I got an STI from the guy. Very sad situation. I am fine now though. Just imagine how it feels to know you got an STI from a situation that you had no control over...ok i'm done now

I haven't had one. I knew someone who had herpes, he was dating a girl who didn't have it before him but didn't care if she got it supposedly. She figured it was okay because they were in a "long-term relationship". The relationship didn't last that long and now she's stuck with herpes.
Yeah, I don't think I would ever find that okay.

I was always careful and mindful and scared shitless of getting an STD... Then i found out i had HPV. My paps foral ost 2 years have been normal which means, according to my dr and the type i had, that my body naturally rid itself of it. That tends tohappen whe youre yoinger than 30. Im now in a relationship that will probably be "the one" and I'm happy I'm rid of HPV and my current guy is clean. Its scary and can really happen to anyone.

I was told I had an STD by my gynecologist: "I'm about 98% sure, I'll run a test if it'll make you happy". I told my parents, and instead of them being supportive, they threatened to throw me out of the house and told me that I wasn't 'their 'daughter' because 'their daughter' wouldn't have sex. At that time I'd had two partners, both boyfriends. When the test came back a couple weeks later, I didn't have anything, but they refused to believe it. It completely ruined my relationship with my parents.

Had the cancer scare!! Three abnormal paps because of the damn HPV and had to have some kinda microscopic test. Finally came back normal but have to go back every 6 months until I have 3 normal paps. This sucks!!

Yay for being 16 and thinking "As long as you bag it before he cums, you're safe".

Lucky for me, it was just chlamydia, but it still sucked.

I thankfully don't have any STDs and neither does my husband since we were both virgins when we married and have only been with each other.

My sister has the STD herpes. She is the only one I know who has STDs.

I have HPV, had the warts and the 50,000 cancer scares to boot. I was diagnosed when I was 14 years old. I am now pushing 30. For the last 15-16 years I have had TWO, count them, TWO pap smears come back as "normal". My last came back as abnormal but that could have been due to the presence of sperm cells and bacteria because I was an idiot and forgot when my appointment was scheduled. I have been through 5 surgeries to remove damaged/suspect tissue from my cervix.

These is what my doctor told me:
- It can be spread with or without condoms and by touching the infected area and then touching your genitalia.

- The disease fights latency if you are sexually active with multiple partners.

- Most men have zero clue they have it and it can be spotted quite easily. If you see a white spot near the head of his penis, chances are he is infected. If you see multiple white spots completely surrounding the head of the penis it could be a different condition called pearly penile papules.

I got checked for everything right after an abusive relationship and was clean.

I've been with the same guy for over 3.5 years.
We got tested together after six months.

And I actually got tested yesterday as a part of a physical.

My cousin used to scare me saying I Had herpes because I tried to shave my pussy but I was too young and didn't shave it properly so I got razor bumps and such.

So, I've always been scared. LOL.

I don't know if anyone has admitted to it. But I unfortunately have had one. A common one, that seems to do little harm, but i found out fast about it. I had a boyfriend, he cheated (lots) and I was not wise to it. Once I saw my doctor and they did my exam, she informed me of the results, and I dropped his ass like a hot pan on bare hands. I asked, have you cheated on me? He said no. I said you lie. I have this, Goodbye. Tell your whores you have it too. Never saw him again, never heard from him.

Hallelujah, he was an ass anyways .lol

well, it was consensual and she knew, so I don't see the problem with it. She knew the risks and was willing to go through it anyway.
