Menstrual cups? Yes or no?

Contributor: SecretToyLover2 SecretToyLover2
Hey everyone, it's been a while!!! Anyhow, I am not sure if I have posted about this but I don't believe I have. I'm curious if anyone else has tried menstrual cups. And what their experiences have been.

I switched over after tampons started giving me yeast infections. I wish I would have switched ages ago! They're so much more comfortable than tampons. Plus it's a big monetary savings because you don't have to keep buying them. I do find it a little gross to clean the blood out, but I'm easily grossed out by such things. I know a lot of people don't find it bad.

Hehe if you browse around in this section of the forums, you'd find plenty of threads regarding cups.

I switched to a cup a few months ago, and I wouldn't go back to disposables if you paid me! It's so much more comfortable than pads or tampons, and it'll save me lots of money in the long run. Plus, as I found out when I was researching cups, some of the stuff found in disposable products can be pretty unnerving. I don't find it at all gross to clean, and there's the added benefit that it doesn't cause a bad smell and won't build up in the trash can for all to see.

I love them too. I read about them from my cousin who is a blogger. I was skeptical but I fell in love with the simplicity. Especially after I found out about the chemicals in tampons. I've always been prone to yeast infections and when I started using cups I haven't had one! No UTI's either! I prefer to empty, wash and switch mine in the shower at morning and night and its much cleaner and. Less of a hassle!

I've been using the cup now for a year and it's so great! i love not having to think about it for a 12hr span, and that i can sleep without fear of TSS. However, since being on BC, the first few days of my cycle is so light i dont see the need for it's use and tend to free bleed and have little spotting.
