Pussy piercings!

Contributor: Blinker Blinker
I'm really thinking about getting a vertical clit hood piercing, and was wondering if anyone else has such a piercing. I have a high tolerance for pain (ok, I'm a freaking masochist, people) so don't leave out any grimy details. I've had several piercings over the years, most recently nipple piercings...which unfortunately I had to remove. My boyfriend is a tit man and he would NOT leave them alone. That, and they migrated. I miss them so much

I have two horizontal clit hood piercings. Not the same thing, but in the same area so maybe my advice can help a little. They are awesome!!!! I had my nipples pierced about two months beforehand. That was more painful to me, but I have a decent tolerance for pain. Since there is so much blood in that area, these types of piercings usually heal pretty quickly. One word of warning, though. Make sure that you get a large enough ball or jewel at the other end. Mine came out twice and it kept slipping off when I tried to resecure it. I had to go back to the piercer for that.

Hope this helps! Good luck.

Thanks! I do have a couple questions: did you lose any sensation down there at all? Or has it added to your sexual experiences?

Nope, but I may eventually get the Christina piercing. I would never do anything other than that. The risk it too high.

Holy shit...I like that one better. I just looked it up.

Looks much safer, and it's away from those nerves entirely.

I'm totally stealing your idea, Lauren. Hope you don't mind!

I have the vertical hood piercing. It didn't hurt that bad having it done. I sat indian style while the piercer ( a man) did the job quickly and professionally. After the initial jab, it barely hurt. Make sure you have some saline spray solution to apply to help it heel faster.

I have thought about it but keep putting it off; guess I don't want a problem.
Pain is not an issue for me, another masochist here!

My problem is finding a piercer who I trust and know does good work. If anyone has recommendations for Atlanta, message me

I see that you might be changing your mind but I'll still tell in case you change your mind again or anyone else is interested. I got my VCH done about 7 years ago. It honestly was the worst pain I've ever felt, including giving birth. However that horrible pain only lasted a split second. It healed pretty quickly. I'm just sort of bored with it and have been thinking about taking it out though.

Lol I've changed my mind again. The Christina is a surface piercing and I have scars on my pubic mound so I'm not sure I'm a candidate for it.

You mentioned you're bored with it...does it add or take away any sensations? I'm afraid of losing any sensations or having the piercing become callused.

I'm too much of a whimp to get a piercing there... But the idea does sound fun.

I didn't find that it took away any sensations, though I know some women have had that problem. When I first had it done everything was an amazing new experience, the seam of my jeans would rest just right and walking suddenly became nearly orgasmic and one day I was on a bus and the vibrations were going through it and it was hitting my clit. Those things really haven't happened the last few years and I just don't feel that I am getting as much out if it. Perhaps I need different jeans or to hop on a bus again. The average sorts of stimulation (vibration and manual stimulation) still do the same old thing, I just don't find that the extra perks of having the piercing work as well anymore.
I'm also afraid that if I take it out I'll realize that sex is slightly less awesome though.

Have the holes become callused? I know that with lip rings, the holes kind of become icky looking, and hard. I have a friend with a lip ring and shecalled them her "donuts". I really don't want callused holes near my woohoo.

Nope, I think I would have taken it out long ago if I saw any keloid scar tissue there! Yuck. It just looks like a hole, nothing funky going on around it. I know some people are more susceptible to it than others, and some locations seem to be too.

Thanks! You've helped a ton! I really appreciate it

Btw, was it expensive? I know each place is different but I've heard of some piercers charging over one hundred for genital piercings bc of the risk involved.

The clit hood is a very thin membrane, so very easy to pierce. Any pain will be over quick. They say its actually not that painful and that a lot of it is psychological. Whatever. It hurt - sharp and quick. I thought my nipple piercing was worse.

It heals fast (under 2 weeks). It feels gret - sitimulation by way of rubbing with the jewlery. Jelwery size and shape is an entirely different topic! The coolest thing about a VCH is that it heals to the point where it can be taken out, put back in, etc, like an earing. Every time you change it up (take it out, out in) its like a new clit.

Finally, because it's a single hole behind the clit, it's hidden if you do scar. Its actually a very safe bet. I love mine

I had mine done for a while. When I got it done it was like a little pinch and then it was over. Practically painless! I have my nipples pierced and that was WAAAAYYY more painful than my VCH. It healed really fast too. I didn't lose any sensation, I actually had more problems with having too much stimulation. The membrane is actually over the clit, not behind it. It's the hood of skin covering your clit, hence the name clitoral hood. If the piercing is under the clit, it's not a VCH, it's a triangle. A good site for info on piercings is bmezine.com if you haven't stumbled on that already. Here's a link to all the different types of female piercing bmezine

I had mine done awhile back ago and it was $80 plus tax and tip at that time so I could see it being over $100.

For most people it's very thin. I forgot to mention this because actually I forgot about it, my hood is quite thick so my experience may differ on the pain level.
I have my nipples done too and those hurt way less for me.

Blinker, there's a good book called "The Piercing Bible" (I don't remember the author) and it has a LOT of great info about all kinds of piercings, including several chapters on genital piercings.

I'd LOVE to get a Triangle, but I'm terrified the piercer may slip and hit the stalk of my clit and leave me a sexual cripple (who knows, some women actually become more sensitive with clit or clit stalk piercings, while others lose sensation. But, unlike hood or Triangles, actual clit piercings are pretty rare due to the danger. The danger of hitting the clit with a VHP or a HHP is virtually nil with a good piercer.) The Triangle is behind a LOT of tissue, and makes a channel through a lot of tissue. You can't take it out yourself and put it back in. You have to carry a plastic place holding thing, in case you need to have an MRI or something (they are magnetic tests and will rip out piercings) and then usually need to go back to the piercer to have it replaced. But, it is supposed to be fantastic if done properly and if you have the right physiology for it (some women don't have enough loose tissue behind the arm of the clitoris to have a Triangle.) It's deeper than a VHP or a HHP, but if I could really find someone I could trust, I'd do it.

Thanks for the tip, P'Gell! I'm gonna have to find that book and research this more. Not exactly something to just get on a whim.

I just looked up the Triangle piercing...wow. You're brave! I just need to find a piercer who has a lot of experience with genital piercings who comes highly recommended.

The only piercing that I would consider for myself is the vertical hood piercing. I chose vertical for its aesthetic appeal, but why I chose it over all others is there just seems to be too much risk associated with them. The only thing that gives me pause about getting a hood piercing (other than money) is the healing part. I'm a big girl so my thighs rub together all the time, and I worry about that affecting my healing time and ability. Time for more research, I guess.

Good luck in your search for a suitable piercing.

I do not have enough of a hood to pierce, unfortunately, so when I had mine done we pierced my inner labia, instead.

Hard to describe but we did a very high piercing, at the very top of them, in each, then looped a single ring thru both holes. It sat directly under my clit so I got some stimulation from it, was high enough that my inner labia could still spread for penetration and looked super cute - plus, it was far enough away from nerve endings and such to be safe.

I don't often wear the piercing anymore but the holes, like an ear piercing, don't close once they've healed so i can take it in and out at my whim.

It was painful but not nearly as painful as my nipples or outer labia.

I was worried about whether or not the holes closed up easily. Thanks for that.

I need to get my nipples redone badly because the bastard that did them put them in crooked in the first place. I didn't really feel much pain when I got my nipples done, so maybe I can tolerate a pussy piercing.

Can't wait to see the look on my gyno's face when he sees it

I just wanted to clarify something real quick, jewelery that is used in piercings is usually non-magnetic, it's stainless steel and made with nickel typically so it isn't an issue. It shouldn't rip out in an MRI (yikes!) but it can interfere with the results. According to BME actually a tattoo is more of "risk" than a piercing because of the stuff in the ink but it's rarely an issue.

Thanks for the link, Kimi.

I'm a nurse, and at the hospitals I have worked at, we always make people take out ALL metal or even metal coated piercings for MRIs, (for X Rays, it's an issue of interference, with MRIs, it's magnetic as well) we just don't want to take a chance. Although ferrous metal (iron based) are more magnetic than many, stainless steel and surgical steel are still pretty magnetic (take a SS piece of jewelry and put it near one of your refrigerator magnets, it will attract it, and the MRI is quite a bit stronger than the little oranges and bunnies and "Hate is Not a Family Value" magnets on my fridge. )

The article is correct that stainless or surgical steel is less magnetic, but still errs on the side of caution: (quote from the article on the website) "that said it is strongly recommended that you replace any metallic jewelry with acrylic, wood, or Teflon for such procedures to minimize the risk....Should you ever be in need of an MRI scan make sure to either swap out your metallic jewelry for acrylic/wood/Teflon jewelry or remove it altogether" end quote

Because once a Triangle is taken out, the channel is nearly impossible to find again, carrying a Teflon or acrylic "place holder" to put into the channel is necessary. (And honestly, IF I do this, I don't want the little metal bar behind my clit even moving a millimeter during a procedure! If )

IF you would know in advance you are having the MRI, like a scheduled test, then you will have time to have your piercer help you with the replacement, if you can't do it yourself, with non metal jewelry or channel holder, if it's an emergent procedure (say you are in a car accident) then, most likely, the staff, IF they know you have a piercing, will remove it and not bother with any channel holding jewelry. Time may be of the essence.

Had a young man years ago, who had just had his lip and eye brow pierced, and he got into a skate boarding accident and was brought in semi-conscious, we had to remove the piercings for his MRI, and the lower lip was a new piercing and BOY was he mad when he woke up! I don't know if he ever got it back in or not, or had to go back to his piercer (I didn't see him try, as he was screaming at me ) but he was yelling at us that we "ruined" him. Saved the kid's life, as he had internal injuries that the MRI picked up. Most other pierced patients I have worked with have been a LOT easier to work with, and understand the risks and what needs to be done. Of course, most of my co-workers would leave a lot of this to me, knowing me, and some of them knowing not much beyond ear lobe piercings. (I've stepped in to "save" tattooed new Moms who wanted to breastfeed. We had an old Charge Nurse who was under the MISTAKEN impression that one cannot breastfeed if one has had tattoos (based on VERY old and VERY outdated information) and I would step in and get those Moms and their babies together.)

But, my point is, medical personnel will remove piercings and it is probably a good idea to let them know you have them, if they are not obvious. In emergent situations, we don't go over the entire body looking for piercings, but on the off chance that your VHP, or Price Albert or even nose or ear piercings could rip out, and cause you significant harm it is best to use an acrylic, Teflon or plastic channel holder, and always carry info on WHERE your piercings are in with your little medical card, which lists your allergies, meds, conditions ect. Your wallet will be looked at, in order to find this card with your allergies and meds ect, if you are brought in during an emergency, and it's good to know if someone is pierced in a place that might not be immediately obvious.

Thanks for bringing this up, Blinker, this is a good thing for us to discuss. Thank you for the good link, Kimi.

Has anyone here had a Christina piercing done? I have my sternum done with a surface bar so I'm familiar and comfortable with the process and the jewelry. I'm also on the fleshy side down there which I think would make it less uncomfortable when something is pressing against it because it wouldn't be backing up to bone. Anyone have first hand experience with this one?

Thank you for the information as well!
I had an MRI done about a year ago and they never said anything and I didn't think of it either, I had my nipples and my hood piercing in. It would have been rather awkward though since I have a hard time unscrewing the ball myself when it's too tight (which it was then), I just can't get the right grip at that angle!
