Sex with diva cup?

Contributor: snowminx snowminx
Well I've read that you can have sex if you're using those cups with your period, how do those even work??? If you have to stick it in there with your hands and it had a thing sticking down I don't see how that's far enough away from your partners penis? I would think it would be poking them the whole time lol

I believe the cup that works during sex is the Instead Cup. It is a soft, disposable cup. I use a Diva Cup... I don't see how it would work with it at all - like you said it would be poking and taking up a large amount of vaginal space - plus the Diva Cup sits really low in the canal... so there's just no room!

The Instead Cup fits way up closer to the cervix, and is soft rather than the hard, solid silicone of the Diva Cup.

Yep. This. The Instead can be used during sex but the Diva Cup is far too large and sits too low for any penetration to occur.

just to expand on this, true reusable silicone menstrual cups like the diva cup are ment to have the base of the cup sitting outside of the vagina with the rim that has the suctions holes sitting in the vaginal canal.
While the insure cups say they can be used during intercourse, i honestly wouldnt suggest it, as the rim of the cup is really hard to get and keep in place and can easily get caught on your partner if they are penetrating you. I know for a some of people who have used the insure soft cups the cup was too large and it resulted with the rim of it hanging outside of the vagina.

Its best to just go with out anything and lay a towel or something down if you're worried about a mess.

Okay thanks for clearing this up =) I don't exactly remember hearing the name instead cup so maybe they just said menstrual cup and I assumed they were talking about the diva since that's the only one I've seen pictures of.

Incidentally, Diva cup is only one brand of reusable silicone cup. There are many brands on the market. The Instead cup is the only disposable one that i currently know of.
All of the reusable ones cannot be used during PIV sex. My gf and i have oral sex or hand-on-clit sex with our reusable menstrual cups to alleviate messes but penetration isn't possible with the reusable cups. It's best to just go without anything. Wwe use a towel or, better yet, Oour Liberator Throe underneath if Wwe have penetrative sex of any kind while either of us is on the rag.

I have had non-penetrative sex with my DivaCup dozens of times but nothing but fingers would fit inside with the cup in there.

I feel like a towel is way, way less difficult.

Why not just take it out for a few minutes during sex and then re-insert it?
