Shave vs. Waxing - help?

Contributor: SummerLove SummerLove
What're your methods to shaving? I hate doing it. Sometimes I procrastinate too much when it comes time to. I just feel like it's a hassle, and it takes too long. Any tips on how to save me some time? Ha

& Waxing - I've looked into this. Surely i don't want to do it myself.. I think I would mess up somehow. But it just seems soo pricey, how long does it usually last for you? My hair seems to grow fast, everywhere :S
+ There are so many different types of waxes, which ones do you guys usually get?

Just looking for some tips, tricks, hints?! Something

I used to wax about every 5 to 6 weeks. I been unemployed for a while so I have to shave. And I agree with you it is a hassle and it takes too long and at time I *looking around* have let myself be hairy beast, legs and all.

Well the color waxes are better than your regular brown honey looking wax but they are pricier. The last fancy wax I had was with a blue wax that the girl didn't have to use cloth strips to remove.

I miss getting wax, yes a bit painful but its definitely worth it.

I wax when I can afford to, otherwise I shave daily. I don't particularly mind which way I get it done, it's just that I HATE having body hair and waxing doesn't miss spots as much as I do when I shave, and it doesn't come back so quickly.

I shave, but I'd much prefer to get waxed. It's just that it's so expensive and I have a feeling I'd need to go every 2-3 weeks which is just a big dent in my budget that I can't quite afford.

I read some tips on another thread on here and learned about a product called No Bumps from Sally Beauty and I've been using that and Monistat's Anti Chafing Gel after shaving and so far *knock on wood* I have had no irritation or ingrown hairs! Woohoo. I don't shave every day though, that would cause me far too much irritation, and I have to stick to every 3 days..which does mean that it does grow back between shaves. That's why I'd really prefer to get waxed, I just can't justify spending the money.

I tried some of the pre-ready strips of wax, the ones you rub between your hands and then peel apart to put on your leg. I thought it was working good, but then found several clumps of wax still on my leg and tons of stray hairs. Maybe I didn't leave it on long enough, but I prefer shaving after that.

I much prefer getting wax, but I'm a cheap bastard and $65 every month (it would last longer if I wasn't a total gorilla) is just not something I'm willing to spend. I do it as a treat for the hubster (and myself, hehe) on special occasions. It's no more awkward than going to the OB/GYN, you have to remember it's what they do for a living. I DO prefer the sugar-based waxes (like Nad's), but not many spas use them. A shame really, since they're somehow a lot less painful. I'm too pregnant right now to wax myself, so I'm going in within the next few weeks to get it done for hubby's return from his last deployment. Weee! LOL

The only thing I wax is my eyebrows. Everything else I shave.
