I used to be practically unconscious the first day of my period; so I just sat in bed all day groaning, sweating, feeling like my intestines were spluttering to their deaths, etc. Now I'm on my pill it's much easier, I just use a heating pad and get some tea, and just go about my daily life for the most part. I may be a little lazier while babysitting...

I tried the pill, and it didn't really do the trick. I think my cramps were actually worse.

Then I switched to using a menstrual cup, rather than tampons/pads. Helps significantly. I forget i'm even on my period to be honest. It's cleaner, healthier, and just more comfortable. It seems weird at first, but if you're okay with touching your vagina it's not disgusting at all. I think tampons are disgusting after using one of these.

Also, you can try correcting your diet. Eating more vegetables and raw foods. Cut back on the boxed/canned items. Fast food as well should be cut down. You would be surprised how these things affect cramps.

Lastly, avoid overdosing on pain killers and whatnot when you have cramps. Try using essential peppermint oil and dabbing over your pelvic area and tummy. Much better for you, and works great.

Tylenol, lots of water, warm baths, hot tea, and a heating pad. I try to avoid "heavy" foods (like fried foods or lots of salt).

I have heard that caffeine can make things worse, but personally I find Diet Coke and chocolate to be helpful (maybe it's just a psychological thing...but I'll take it!)

Midol is the only think that helps at all. I've heard of plenty of techniques like hot baths, orgasms, or exercise, but nothing so far has worked. Luckily as time has gone on my cramps have been getting less severe. I've been eating healthier, but I'm not sure if there's any connection.

I usually just deal with it. If it's bad I take a hot shower. If it's really bad I take tylenol or pamprin.

Advil, heating pads and, if they're not too bad, some light exercise and yoga.

I take Excedrin or Ibuprofen, I only get bad cramps for the first 3 days. I'm thinking about getting the paragard IUD which makes cramps like hell but for birth control for 10 yrs it'd be sooo worth it.

Being that I have endometriosis, my cramps and period symptoms are much more intense than what the normal should be. I was put on pain and anxiety meds which help and also was put on depo-provera that I've been on for 7 years. I only started the pain and anxiety meds after surgery this year. Also, I recently started using virgin coconut oil to help it's also been known to totally reverse IBS which is a common thing with those who suffer from endo I have only been on the coconut oil regularly for a week now. I started about 3 wks ago, but wasn't taking it regularly. I eat it from a spoon. It's supposed to be extremely amazing! You should really read up on the benefits! You can take it in pill form or use it to cook with, I just eat it by the spoon. I stick it in the back of my mouth and swallow like a pill so I don't feel the texture. It's not bad, but I prefer taking it that way over cooking with it or trying to mix it with something. It's faster for me to take with a spoon. It mixes amazingly well in smoothies! I also just started taking aloe vera pills today. It's supposed to be helpful in the period dept.

I'm unsure as to how the aloe will effect me, but you may wanna check it out to. It does have wonderful effects even if it doesn't help my endo, I'll always take it because it's been known to shrink tumors, helps relieve rhumetoid arthritis, prevents and helps yeast infections, vaginitis, IBS, ulcerative colitis, cadidiasis, etc. It pretty much helps anything and everything and it's totally worth the benefits! I need all the health I can get. Lol

Wow. That sounds similar to the symptoms of endometriosis! Have you ever had it?

I've had severe endometriosis for the last 2 years (including several trips to the emergency room). The pain meds helped but only a little. I used a heating pad, pain meds, and having my legs elevated while laying down. The pain and extremely heavy bleeding have toned down significantly after having a D and C as well as a newer IUD put in. Now the cramps are nowhere near as bad and when I get them drinking water and a heating pad works wonders.

First I'll try and move around to keep myself occupied and not thinking of the pain.
Second I'll take a shower and do some vaginal exercises. I only do it in the shower because to releases a lot of blood. But afterword I feel a lot better.
Finally I take some Tylenol PM and sleep the rest away.
