I can't imagine using anything other than a Diva Cup or menstrual cup of some kind. They are the least expensive, most efficient, and absolutely most practical for anyone who is able to use one. 4 out of 5 days of my period I have to drag myself out of bed to empty it before I fall asleep because I've forgotten I'm wearing it or forgotten about my period all together (unless I have cramps). I definitely never forgot I was wearing a pad or tampon...

I have one and it is FREAKIN' FANTASTIC.
No pads
No tamps
No leaking (once you get used to putting it in right)
No drying you out like tamps do
You can take it out whenever you want (unlike tamps)
No strings
It's more sanitary
Cost effective
Environmentally friendly
You can leave it in for 12 FREAKIN' HOURS
It makes my periods seem shorter because there's less maintenance.

I'm never going back. It's boss.

Ha. I do that too....."Oh right, I'm on my period...."

One time I even tried to use a dildo, and I was like, "WTF? oh."

Haha, that happens to me constantly. I get started on clitoral masturbation (something that was too messy to deal with while wearing a pad...) and then remember I'm wearing my Diva Cup. It's kind of a good problem to have.

I've left mine in for more than 12 hours on several occasions if I couldn't get to a bathroom, fell asleep, or just forgot. I've never had a problem, especially towards the end of the cycle when it rarely gets more than 1/3 filled.

Oh, and by far the best thing about Diva/menstrual cups for me is that you can insert them preventativly. If your cycle is regular or you have telltale signs that today's gonna be the day, you can insert your cup that morning before work, for example, and not have to keep checking for spotting during the day. I tend to wear mine the day my period is supposed to start whether I have cramps or not. Most of the time when I go to check the cup before bed I've started my period without even realizing it.

If you don't have major cramps/issues associated with your period it'll just be any other week for you. And even if you do have cramps, you're freer to roll around in bed moaning without having to worry about which position will lead to accidental stains on your bed sheets!

OH RIGHT! I forgot to include that in the (already long) list of pros! I also use mine preventatively (which should NEVER be done with a tampon). My period usually runs like clockwork every 28 1/2 days, so I can usually guess what time of day I'm going to start my period, but I get paranoid and wear a cup the day before anyway since....it's not hurting anything and it calms my fears.

Another thing I forgot to include....wearing it at night. We have white sheets, and I'm happy to say that there are NO stains on them, and I can actually get good sleep without having to worry about staying in some weird position

I feel like I should make a new list....

No pads

No tamps

No leaking (once you get used to putting it in right)

No drying you out like tamps do

You can take it out whenever you want (unlike tamps)

No strings

It's more sanitary

Cost effective

Environmentally friendly

You can leave it in for 12 FREAKIN' HOURS (and even if you forget, it shouldn't be a big deal)

It makes my periods seem shorter because there's less maintenance.

Can be used preventatively if you're not sure when your period is going to start (unlike tampons)

Full night's sleep without worrying about your sheets

Makes clitoral masturbation during your period better since there are no strings or pads or blood to worry about. Externally you have full range of your vulva since the cup's stem does not extend outside the vagina.

....ANYTHING ELSE?

I use a Lunette Cup and I can't imagine how I lived spending like $10 a month on tampons. Now I don't have to worry about having to carry tampons, when I'll run out, if the store will have the right kind... I just carry the cup around!

Check out link before you order. I hated my Diva because it was way too big for me, but there are a couple of very small cups that I use and love. Definitely try a cup! but find the best one for you!

Absolutely life changing! The first few times were a little awkward since there is a learning curve to it for sure. I just had a hard time finding the best placement. But awesome after that!

It's something I may try at some point mainly for the cost savings.....I worry about the gross out factor though.

I just don't like the idea of something in my vagina... it's too sensitive! I use cloth pads exclusively but if I ever got back into swimming I might try one because it does sound better than tampons.

Absolutely fantastic. As long as you don't mind getting personal with your vagina, it's an awesome way to go! And REALLY saves money!

I started with a small DivaCup and now I have a collection of five different menstrual cups from various brands. I love them so much, especially compared to pads/tampons! I tell all my female friends to convert to cups because they make my period sooooo much easier and more pleasant.

I adore menstrual cups but I found the Diva Cup to be uncomfortable. There are other models on the market that are shaped differently, this is one of the longer ones. If you are shorter on the inside you might want to try another brand. I use a Mooncup and it fits me much better. The only downside is the stem, I trimmed mine off completely.

Looooove it. I have a Mooncup UK, and it's the best thing ever.
