Naked Reader Book Club Discussion: THE SWEETEST KISS (October 26, 7-11 PM EST)

So since I'm kind of bursting at the seams about this one, I also loved The Student by Sommer Marsden (I love everything she writes), Red by Any Other Name by Kathleen Bradean, and Blood and Bootleg by Teresa Noelle Roberts.

And there was one story that, for whatever reason, didn't overly thrill me when I initially read the book - Devouring Heart by Andrea Dale. Now I love Andrea Dale to begin with, but after I read this, this story just kind of stuck in my mind and I would end up thinking about it during the day at work and such and the more I thought about it, the more powerful the plot became and it's almost like a dark, twisted Romeo and Juliet type plot in the end to me...or like an erotic, morbid, Gift of the Magi.

I just started picking up Laurel K Hamilton books at book sales recently, they've been so highly recommended...but first I have to finish the Little Goddess series by Amy Lane.

It is kind of interesting that vampires have lasted so many centuries. I love the sleek and smooth sophistication and class they can have, and that ravishing side seals the deal for me!

Yes, I think you've hit it. That is a very powerful story and so sad. I'm a fan of stories with substance and I think there are quite a few in the book!

I love Andrea's work. I published her in Where the Girls Are, as well.

Since I ran away at the beginning of the month and wasn't able to announce our prize winners from the last two weeks—I thought it would be fun to announce them randomly tonight. And if I don't get too carried away into the conversation, I will announce tonight's winners too!

So, now you all must hang on my every word—you never know when I'll be giving away something!

I've been thinking the same thing. It's amazing how many of the same characteristics have carried through and how many more have been added or subtracted.

I love Teresa's work, as well and Blood and Bootleg is one of the most unusual stories I've had the pleasure to read! I'm not giving anything away here, because I know they've mentioned this all over the place, but Teresa Noelle Roberts and Andrea Dale, together, are Sophie Mouette. Their Sophie Mouette stories are a beautiful blend of the both of them.

Isn't it funny how some stories stay with you and take on a life of their own? Of course, we're talking about the undead, so I'm not sure how that works.

Hopefully Kathleen will join us and you can gush to her!

Aah, Being Human--I've just finished watching the first two seasons on Netflix (my crappy cable company doesn't carry BBC America

What an amazing show--but not just vampires, there are ghosts and werewolves, too!

This sounds very interesting... I'll have to check it out on my Netflix.
What category does it fall under?
