I really like the idea as well. I didn't really know what the genre was about until I read your post. It's really interesting and I like the elements of vintage fiction (best way I could find to describe it).

(Sorry. Took a nap.)

I saw the Steampunk Call for Submissions on the Erotica site. I wish I had something to give you, but still, that's amazing.

I did just submit my first story for submission into an erotic anthology though. I'm excited!

I remember vaguely hearing about the steampunk collection at the last meeting, and I absolutely can't wait to see it.

It is that clash of vintage and futuristic that makes for such fun stories-- and so much variety!

I'm very curious to see what kind of steampunk stories come along. There really are all kinds of possibilities!

I personally would rewrite Howl's Moving Castle and cast myself as Howl, Sophie, AND the castle. Now that's an orgy.

You have until February 15 for the steampunk idea. Best of luck on your first erotica submission!

Well... it won't be out until the end of 2011, so you have a bit of a wait.

Alright all, it's been great but it's time for me to make tomorrow's lunches and then it's Sons of Anarchy time. See you next time!

I just don't know anything about steampunk, or I'd totally submit.

I still have yet to read your Fairy Tale Lust book even though it's been in my posession since you mentioned it on the book club. I so fail.

Lol... it's okay! Books don't go bad. Not like... milk. Personally, I think FTL is a great winter read... all of those fairy tales make me want to curl up under a warm blanket and read the night away...

Made me want to read it again. It's one of those books that was hard to review, because you get so caught up with the story you are currently reading that you completely forget what was in the previous story. So when you are done reading, you have to go back at each stories to recall what they were about. Same thing with Caught Looking.

MK!

Am really glad you submitted something, that's awesome! You are now way ahead of me in the process.

I did end up reading Caught Looking. It was one of my favorite books. I think I must like voyeurism and exhibitionism. I'm now looking into "Hide and Seek" (also by Cleis).

I already knew I like that, and it was very satisfying to read.

Aha - so tonight I am mixing it up a bit - giving out gift cards at random, mysterious milestones I mean, not totally random, I know when they are, but you don't know...

The first one is $25 for the 100th post and that goes to Mistress Kay!

Congrats!

I remember when you tweeted that you'd submitted; I was very excited for you!

I wonder what your writing process was like? Is writing erotica different than your other types of writing? That's for anyone else that writes, too!

I, myself, want to start writing erotica again but its been a while and had only been for my partner before. I wonder what road others have taken to get their ball rolling.

The process isn't so different except for erotica, I want to have a good idea in mind before I start writing. With articles, I just kinda go for it.

I'm curious how you all got interested in erotica in the first place. Despite the growing popularity, it's not an easy genre to track down in a lot of bookstores. Do you read print or e-books? Buy in person or only online?

I've bought a few in book stores (surprisingly enough, Borders and Barnes&Nobles), but mostly online and they've all come in print. My eReader is prissy and doesn't like to upload properly, so it wouldn't be worth it to me to buy them in a digital format.

I started off reading Ebook that were free downloads by the author in the last 90's/early 2000's, and still do read them as Ebooks because then I can carry them on my phone or ipod; but I do love a good book that I can take with me into a bubblebath or into bed.

My father had a large library of books and there were some books that contained sex scenes, and I remember masturbating to books in the series Earth's Children as a teen. Then I moved on to free stories easily found in online websites, but even if it's pure sex in there, nothing compared to a well-written and thought out story.

Lol... I love that-- "My eReader is prissy..." I have this mental picture of an uptight librarian shaking her head no-no to erotica.
