Did you know that......

What is something you learned about sex toys since you joined EF, or started getting into toys in general?

It can be about materials, ingredients, safety, storage, compatibility, or anything else.

I think that the thing I have learned that sticks out the most is about making sure you take the batteries out of a toy before you store it. I have lost plenty of toys because of battery corrosion. They were toys that were used all the time, and then just had a dry spell, and kind of got forgotten about, and by the time I got them out next, they were unusable!

Prior to EF, I didn't have any experience with sex toys. So, I pretty much learned EVERYTHING from EF.

That said, one thing that really stands out, is how to store and care for toys.

Storing, care, and material safety for me.

I had no idea about material safety at all!

I learned the hard way that I can't just store some toys together without putting them in plastic baggies or something. Some of my jelly toys melted together in the bag I kept them in.

Lube/toy material compatibility. Safety issues with jelly toys.

Material safety. I had a feeling some things weren't the best to be putting inside of me but not which ones or why.

Also learned what ingredients in lube were causing irritation for me so I was able to find one that didn't cause problems. Yay!

Everything I know about sex toys, I learned at EF. I got my first toys & started hanging out here simultaneously. I had no idea the subject was so complicated with the various materials, lube compatibilities, storage, etc. It was overwhelming! But fortunately, I feel I've caught up pretty quickly as everyone has been so helpful with answering questions & reviews have also helped me learn a lot.

Oh jeeze, what haven't I learned? Material safety, lube compatibility, proper cleaning and storage... almost everything I know about toys was learned here at EF, having only had a few toys before coming here.

What sticks out most for me is the huge number of toy materials that exist. I used to think that plastic, rubber, and jelly were the only materials that were used in toys (I knew of glass toys, but I thought they were meant as erotic artwork and weren't for actual use). But now I know about silicone, glass, steel, wood, TPR, TPR silicone, elastomer, cyberskin, etc. It's a little astonishing that I ever thought that sex toys were only made of three materials! Silicone for the win!

I learned about cleaning materials and Lubes. Also I learned about material used in sex toys that made me able to choose the best one for hand making it.

I know! I almost have to keep a spreadsheet in my night stand so that I can keep things straight and not have to worry about what to do!

Knew about toys. I had only bought them though. Never got in depth. I always read reviews and looked for best prices, etc. But I never had a place with all that in one! Plus, this website has taught me a lot about company quality and materials/chemicals.

The biggest thing I learned is to keep jelly and silicone toys all separated, and not to use silicone lube with silicone toys!

The lube thing was really big for me, too.

I learned that jelly toys aren't particularly safe or healthy.

I didn't know anything about the materials or the safety ratings.
