I clean mine after every use, but don't worry about before (for my stuff). They're mostly butt toys, and so not cleaning afterwards is very disgusting, but I keep them in a reasonably clean place and I figure that a little bit of dust and lint up the butt isn't going to mess things up.

For vaginal stuff I can see being a bit more careful.

I clean mine after each use, then wrap them in a bandana (they're usually good about not leaving lint on the toys, and cheap at $1/ea). I will also sterilize all of the ones I've recently used in the dishwasher at least once a month (most of them only get used 1-3 times per month). Those that either see frequent use or can't be sterilized in the dishwasher I will occasionally soak in very hot water and sometimes rubbing alcohol, depending on the material (even if I have to hold part of it out of the water for several minutes). If I fall asleep before cleaning a toy, I will usually soak it the next day after a thorough scrubbing.

I am especially militant about toys used for penetration. I blame my first (and only) UTI on a cheap, porous jelly toy. Landed me in the ER with a kidney and bladder infection because I was too young and stupid enough to go to the doctor when I first noticed a problem. Terrible experience and it broke me of buying cheap toys. But I learned my lesson.

If they have any lint or renew powder on them, then I wash before and after. But if they are well packaged from any dust and they aren't the realistic skin material, then I just wash them after use.

Sometimes I'll still just give them a quick wipe over with a wipe. Depends on my mood.

if i insert them (vaginally or anally) i always clean them with soap and water. the vibe i use for my clit, i usually just rinse with water and give it a good cleaning once a week (i use it often!).

I use a commercial toy cleaner or warm water and antibacterial soap before and after each use. Then, depending on how frequently they've been used, I'll boil/bleach the silicones/glass/metals once every few months.

My behavior has evolved on cleaning. With my first toys, I cleaned them before and after each use; with a toy cleaner and soap and water. Now I clean them after use and I will rinse some prior to use. I store them in individual lock type bags so they are usually lint free.
If I use toys at night; cleaning usually waits until the am but I spray them with Before & After, after I use them.
I never got into using bleach but I try to boil those that I can about once a month.

I usually clean before and after. Before to get rid of lint and wash my hands and after for obvious reasons and to maintain the longevity of the toy.

I clean after each use and rinse my toys before using them. Then I deep clean my most used toys once a month or so.

I forgot about when new - yep, wash them then as well. They can have mold release compounds on them or other stuff.

Sometimes before depending on how its stored, but always always always after!!
