Basically you use hot or cold to stimulate different parts of your body. This could be a ice cube dragged across skin or a warm stone. As far as toys we like the cold feel of a vibe in the summer and a warm one in winter. I really like cold sleeves and cold lube in my rear.

Depending on the toys material you can put them in the fridge/freezer or just a bowl of cold water. For heat from what I have read the easiest way is a bowl of warm water, but we like to use a heat pad that way the temp stays till we use it. Sometimes we just warm/cool the lube bottle.
