hubby used to tolerate my pets but after his heart bypass, he got gentler and started really caring about them. He loved our beagle as much as I did and that made me love him even more!

I didn't realize how important it was until I met my husband. He has curiousity and respect for animals. Once I fell in love with him, something in me felt safe and able to give my heart to animals. It's been a passion ever since. I work with dogs and it's really hard work but I can't imagine doing anything else.

Yes - can't imagine loving a man that doesn't care for animals because I love them. But, I wouldn't be attracted to a man just because he loves animals.

I don't want animals in the house. Dogs, cats, etc. belong outside. If they agree to that, then we're good to go.

I am a HUGE animal lover, so it is really important to me that my man loves them too. Fortunately, he does. What a relief! I could NOT spend my life with someone who doesn't love animals.

Yes, it make them more human and I think gentler, my son came home from the military and said that he missed the dog terribly and when he gets his own house he will definitely be having a dog!

God yes! I feel if you don't love at least one kind of animal your heartless..plus it shows that you have a sensitive side which is always a good thing. Me and my boyfriend both love animals so it works out well!

I'm an animal nut myself, and I could not be with someone who was not as truly dippy about animals as I am. I actually take potential boyfriends to the SPCA where I volunteer as a date, to see how they react. Since my home is always going to be full of animals, or I'm going to be miserable, that's going to be a pretty good indicator for long-term success.
Though unfulfilled - though it's fine that you do not like house pets, they are meant to be in houses for the most part. We have bred many dogs to the point where it's not safe for them to keep them outside. See any toy breed - completely bred to be kept inside a home, and other dogs may be weakened, sickened, or even die if you are keeping them outside in the wrong climate (for example, a husky outside in Florida will likely die of heatstroke).
