Ever Had a Toy You Just Couldn't Enjoy?

I once ordered a toy from a much-inferior site, and I hated the moment it arrived. It was a jelly vibrating dildo (oh, the days before I knew about material safety!), and aside from looking kind of cool (it was a clear turquoise color), I found nothing else to like about it. It was way too big for me (to-scale pictures weren't available on this site and the measurements were off) and painful to even ATTEMPT to insert, and I hated the smell and greasy feel of the material. It now sits in a "box of shame" until I clean out my room and toss it.

Has anyone else ever had a toy you hated the moment you saw it? For what reasons? Did you ever eventually find a way to love it?

I had very high hopes for our newest toy the Fun Factory Share - but my wife has no interest in being the penetrator in a pegging style encounter. She's happy enough to use an anal toy on me - just not in a roll-reversal scenario. I respect that and for us the Share is a one-and-done toy.

Unfortunately we have had a few, which brings another question,,what do you do with these toys?

Unfortunately I've had quite a few failures. I've thrown away a couple, but most are still hanging around in the bottom drawer of my toy box. I have had a couple toys that I didn't like at first, but ending up enjoying them a few months later though.

Alas, the only thing I can think of is to throw them away. I don't think anyone would be too keen on having used toys, and as far as I know there's no real way to recycle most kinds of toys (metal could conceivably be melted down).

I have a lot of toys that I do not use after reviewing. From now on I research really good before buying.

Yeah I've had several. I don't see it as a bad thing though because it helped me learn what I like and I am better at deciding what toys will work for me now than I used to be.

Although I have always been able to find a way to get off with any of the toys we bought, there are certainly ones that just collect dust in my collection. Some toys just aren't meant for certain bodies.
