Failed the "Survive the cat" test

We ordered a glass icicle and it came in today. In less than an hour it shattered.

Mind you - this was not a problem with the product - it was a problem with the cat.

It seems like the item got put on my daughter's desk while she came over to look at something with me on my computer.

Less than 2 minutes later - we heard a crash and glass shattering.

Seems like her cat jumped up on her desk and we're not sure if he batted at the icicle or landed on it and pushed it on the floor.

Either way - we've learned that the icicle can not be dropped from a height of about 31" onto a ceramic tile floor.

So what have we learned from this experience?

Put the glass dildo back in the box before taking it to your room where you can store it safely and do not just lie it down on the desk.

So far I've only heard of pets chewing up silicone toys.

Bummer, sorry to hear that.

At least you have a nice mini bullet, eh?

Our cats have never destroyed any toys...though they have definitely taken out numerous other items throughout our house. The danger of having animals I guess!

Oh no! That's so disheartening! I've had that happen before with other glass things, my cat seems to break everything nice

Thankfully my kitty doesn't take any interest in my toys. It's so strange how some toys will break like this, while others will survive all kinds of drop tests and abuse.

It was ordered again about 5 minutes later (it wasn't for me).

I remember thinking "I should suggest she put that back in the box for now" and deciding against saying anything.

Oh well.

Yeah, you really have to be careful with pets. They can be pretty curious. Luckily, we don't have any pets, but I remember living at home at having to be cautious of what I did on the floor. The cat would sit on paperwork/homework, sniff cups and sneeze in them, bat a stuff. He was a real troublemaker. Cute little guy, though. I miss him..

Eep! My cat would be in danger of being turned into a tiny pair of fuzzy mittens if she broke one of my toys!

Sorry that happened to you, though.

That sounds awful. At about 5:00 this morning, my cat jumped up on the counter, and knocked my boyfriend's laptop off of it. Now he's burrowed himself under the blankets in an attempt to hide from the dog. I can't stay mad.

Yikes, that seems dangerous for everyone (including the cat) as well. Shards of glass everywhere!

How sad!

Being the owner of a big galoot of a puppy (it's *how* big at 6 months?!), we're very careful to make sure all the people toys are put away. I swear, some of those hard rubber dog toys look like people toys; hate for the dog to get them confused. I don't want to have to explain to the kids why the puppy is chewing on a funny vibrating toy in the living room
