After I have an orgasm the head of my penis is very sensitive, so much so, that if it’s touched, I have to pull away from the stimulation. This sensitivity lasts up to 5 minutes. I once knew a woman whose clitoris was just as sensitive after her orgasm and hated me touching her there for a short period of time.

I’m wondering if genital sensitivity after an orgasm is common.

By using the term genital, I'm referring to the penis head and the clitoris.

I'm extremely sensitive afterwards, and so is my partner. We sometimes torture each other by continuing to stimulate each other until we start laughing really hard and force the other person to stop. I'm insanely sensitive so unless it's after a very mild orgasm, there's no touching for about 3-5 minutes. But for the first 1-2 minutes afterward, anywhere I'm touched almost feels like it's being shocked because even if he touches say my knee or my shoulder, the sensation shoots through me like an electric current. I voted for not enjoying it but it really depends on the intensity of my orgasm. I am able to have many milder orgasms gradually leading up to more intense orgasms. Mild ones I can keep going easily but if I'm in the throws of an awesome orgasm then I can't tolerate immediately starting again. I tend to need to be held for a good while til all the tremors stop before I can be brought back to enjoyment.

Me too. I do enjoy genital stimulation after an orgasm, but sometimes I can't take it because it is overwhelmingly sensitive. But in those cases I wouldn't say I hate being touched. I just need a break.

I answered for myself - but commenting about my wife. Yesterday she commented on how her orgasms have changed. When she was younger and all we knew about were clitoral orgasms - they were sharp and strong - she would push me away immediately because she was unable to tolerate additional contact.

Now however we enjoy g-spot and a-spot play and her orgasms are longer - maintaining contact extends them. After a brief pause orgasms #2 & #3 are easily achievable. At some point she is sated - but I it's not about her clit being too sensitive.

I'm quite sensitive also. And, for the most part do not enjoy stimulation right after orgasm. I typically need a minute or two.

My boyfriend is the same way. He's *VERY* sensitive after orgasm and sometimes even air brushing the head of his penis is too much for him.
