Sex Toy Storage: 2nd edition

Contributor: Beautiful Dreamer Beautiful Dreamer
I am on a quest to find a better storage system. I currently use an elabarorate system of color coded satin bags that I make and store them in two under the bed clear boxes. I want to buy a lingerie chest to store them in, but am picky and can't find anything I like in my price range. Top drawer dildos, second drawer vibrators... A walk in closet would also be nice. I'll have to put this in the blueprint if I ever build a new home.

I know Essin' Em had created the same forum before link but I figured we could start a new one and hopefully get more photos. I also ran across this site link that had some ideas that made me giggle.

No joke: I use a tacklebox. They make some absolutely HUGE ones with plenty of compartments, and you can get them for less than $30 at Wal-Mart. Mine is relatively tiny (and pretty much full already!) and cost me about $7. My dorm room bed is about 1' off the ground and it slides under perfectly, although I may run in to some "hiding" issues with a much bigger one. =P

Here's a picture of my tacklebox when I first got it: link

Again, it's pretty much full now with about 10 toys in the bottom part (I keep three bullets in one little box), so I'll be getting a much bigger one when I have the chance.

Also, you know you have a sex toy obsession when you get two packages in the mail and your dorm room desk ends up looking like this: link

A walk-in closet sounds AWESOME! I'm getting an apartment next year, and I'm honestly thinking of converting one of my draws in to a toy drawer, or using the door organizer my sister bought me a couple of years ago as toy storage.

I suppose I should mention what my box can hold on the bottom half, since the top half is clearly visible, but the bottom isn't. Right now, it contains the following toys:

USB vibe (in original box): link
My First Bowling (in USB vibe box): link
Smoked Slim Magnum (in USB vibe box): link
Butterfly Kiss (in original plastic packaging): link
Turbo Glider: link
Tera Patrick Massager: link
Hannah Harper's Lil Wabbit: link

I threw away the Erotic Wave (link), and I'll probably be throwing away the Lil Wabbit. I got both for free, and they're box pretty crappy. Either that, or I'll trade the HH bullet for my friend's Colt bullet, which she says is too strong for her.

Oh man. The shoe rack is kind of genius.

Tackle box sounds good too. But where I currently keep my toys, in the case I have, I stand the case up on its side. I don't think a tackle box would be able to handle that... things would fall around, right?

Backseat, I love your photo of your dorm desk. And you brought a desktop computer to college! So did I!

Oh Backseat Boohoo, I love the tackle box! I don't think I could find one that was both large enough and cute enough! I have too many toys. Which isn't a bad thing, just unfortunate for storage.

Your dorm desk looks like my "review" box. I keep all the containers so when i write the review I know what they looked like! Thanks for sharing the photos!!

Things falling around: never had that happen. Especially if you get a bigger tacklebox; they tend to have more dividers for you to move around and use at your leisure.

As for cuteness, I don't deny that I'm a function over form kind of lady. =P

I love that spice rack solution. I reorganize toys regularly when selection expands (a common occurence) or when I feel like reorganizing something (also common). I like to collect interesting boxes anyway, so some of them get devoted to toy storage- right now a nice case (similar to violet wand ones) that I got at H. Depot once and a really nice wood shoe polish kit box. And there are cocks standing up all around my bedroom. I'm mid-organ. currently.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves re-organizing! I may take it a little too far, but I really do enjoy it.
Home Depot? Hmmmm..... I may have to go looking. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm currently on the hunt for a vintage suitcase.

I used to keep them in a Devine toy satchel, which is attractive but not very secure. Then I kept them in a dedicated backpack. Then I cleaned out my collection, tossing all of those that were replaced by Romp and Delight. Now I keep them in my suitcase except for those that I'm using on a given day, which go in my day pack.

I'm glad some one created a discussion topic about this because I've been hunting high and low for about a year now and still haven't found anything appropriate to store my toys in. I started off with a draw, then progressed to a cupboard and ever since I moved house a few months ago they've been in bags under my bed. I have a large colection of toys from hand cuffs and paddles to larger toys like the hitachi. I've looked at the storage cases from foryournymphomation and even the biggest one just doesn't seem big enough. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to hear them. My thoughts on what I'd like my ideal storage case to be is like one of thos old wooden victorian chests with decorative carvings, satin lining and a heavy lid that locks. Like in Tipping the Velvet if anyone's read that.

Lane makes some really nice hope chests. There are some nice wooden toy boxes out there that were designed for kids but would lend themselves to adult toy storage well. Maybe you'll find one if you look at an estate sale.

I am still using the same $10 Stanley toolbox for my toys, but today I added a desktop organizer for my nightstand to help reduce clutter. I feel so organized now. Heh, I have some toys that I don't put away (whatever I'm reviewing next, favorite toys, and of course, lubes)... but it was starting to become quite a pile.

I also have a trifold napkin dispenser, so I could use toy cleaner easily.

I'm so needlessly impressed with myself. *laugh* My toys, lubes, oils, ink pot, excedrine, lotte sticky notes, pocket knife, wine opener, and hair sticks are all in this little $5 organizer and now my table looks so clean. I even have the organizer on top of my Pure Wand box, so it's all compact and nice.

Updated version of the tackle toy box: link

It's missing 3 toys and a pack of condoms: I just ordered 2 toys and some condoms from EF, and I gave my friend a weaker bullet in exchange for the Colt bullet, which is too strong for her. She hasn't given me the Colt just yet.

I had to move out of my plastic bins & kicked my boyfriend out of the dresser. You should see the sad state of my sex toy storage.... Haha.

LOL! That's awesome. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of those giganterous tackleboxes with, like, 10 layers and a whole bunch of adjustable compartments. I could probably poke holes through the bottom shelf and loop straps through to hang things...oooo, idea!

I love the tackle box idea. I have one large plastic bin for odds and ends like restraints, spreader bars and other BDSM gear (honestly someone opening that would think I'm going to plan some sort of robbery). Then I have a standing plastic bin with several drawers. Tiniest one for condoms/lubes etc, then little vibes, then dildos, then anal toys, then my partners lil toys, and finally his anal toys. It's a decent system - I drape a pretty cloth over it put some hairbrushes and clips over it and pretend it's a stand when people come into my room!

I just bought a toiletries travel bag for my growing collection. I had to order it on Amazon 'cause I don't have the time to go shopping (with studying for finals), so hopefully it'll be here in a few days. I love the tackle box idea, but I live at my parents' house during vacations, and I think that'd be a little hard to explain

Ok. Here's a sign I have toys on the brain permanently:

I'm sitting here, feeling fatigued, flipping through daytime TV when I see a commercial for this:

and think
WOW - even though it doesn't lock... that would be so cool... to pull out a drawer from under my bed and there are all my toys in their own compartments!!

We have locking double wide media cabinets - 1/2 for DVDs, the other 1/2 for toys. No small & portable storage devices, though.

I use two of the for your nymphomation cases, but I shall soon be out of room.

Someone has to remember these things: a hard, "roll up" case. They were advertised heavily in the mid-90's, but I can't remember what they were called. I bet those would be neat for sex toy storage, since the compartments separate themselves when rolled up!

Alas, my dears, the green pull-out tray on my tackle toy box has now snapped off on BOTH sides. =( I think I need to just buckle down and save up the $100+ dollars for dedicated sex toy storage.

I'm still using the opaque plastic Rubbermaid bins for the bulk of my storage. Makes finding things a bitch sometimes, but what can you do? Hopefully someday a dedicated wooden chest will make it into my possession, but I have to stop buying toys first! I do have two of the FYN cases, which I love because they fit under my (very low) bed. I'd still love their rolling, portable case!

Ahhh.... My poor mom...

(Backstory: I give my parents my room when they come to visit because my house is small and I don't want them sleeping on the futon in the living room)

After I posted that above about the under-the-bed shoe storage thingy, and seriously considered getting it, my mom says "I hope you're going to build a building to store all these toys you are getting." (She has some notion I have 5 or 6 times the amount I actually have.) My reply, "No, they are just fine where they are." She says:
"PLEASE tell me they aren't under the bed where I sleep when I visit!"
LOL!!!!

So for now, they aren't.

Wow, your mother sounds adorable! My mom would probably faint if she saw what was in my tacklebox. The sight of a condom makes her twitch, and she thinks "orgasm" is a dirty word.

What's funny is that I remember one time when I was younger I climbed into mom's bed to snuggle with her and found a "massager" stashed under the extra pillows. I pulled it out and was like "Hey can I use this on my back" and she FREAKED OUT. (I swear I remember it looking like the Hitachi.) I don't remind her of that now ... I'm saving it for a special occasion.

That's great: wait until some really big anniversary or birthday and embarrass her! Hehe.
