Dream Quest
Erotic novel
by
Sword and Sorcery meets T and A, or a Porn Movie for the Fantasy Crowd.
Finally, an adult movie for the Dungeons and Dragons crowd! And they get it right! A movie with all the fantastic creatures doing all the fantastic things you don't see in a Disney flick.
Published:
Pros
Well written, produced, acted, and had some pretty good special effects
Cons
The ending was a bit contrived, but that's just me nitpicking
It was an age of super stars and fake breasts, and a time when the phrases "Porno Movie" and "Good Story" were about as big of an oxymoron as "Jumbo Shrimp". But "Dream Quest" did the seemingly impossible and married the two, creating a delightful journey through a world of fantastic creatures.
There are faeries and goblins, devil men and walking statues. And in the middle of that, a sexually repressed woman finds her own passions, and learns to enjoy her sexuality, and experiences a world of carnal delights.
This was also sold as super star Jenna Jameson's first boy/girl scene in a long time. But really, that was the least of the enjoyment for me. I love fantasy stories, and this was a good one!
As I said before, there are the obligatory fantastical beings, and those beings engage in the obligatory sex scenes. A lesbian three-way with Jenna and a couple of faeries; another three-way with those faeries and a black knight, even a goblin getting a blowjob from a wood nymph. There's even a bonus scene between an ice queen and a statue come to life. His stone makeup mostly stays where it's supposed to.
But there's more; there's character development. You have Jenna's character opening up (no pun intended) to new pleasures of the flesh, as well as some rather impressive for the time digital effects.
I actually bought this movie based on a trailer I saw of it, and it was one of the rare times a porn has actually exceeded my expectations. I go into one of these movies expecting mindless sex and slightly better acting than a middle school drama class production. What I got was a real cinematic experience, with some naughtiness mixed in for good measure.
Needless to say, "Dream Quest" is a movie I can't recommend highly enough. It's definitely good for more than just masturbation material.
