Dream Quest by Wicked Pictures - review by Lady Neshamah

I think that I should say this out right: I am a major film snob. I have no problems admitting to this at all. It come from having worked in the film industry for a few years. I'm not doing it anymore, but it was fun while I was a part of it. I worked on a film that went to The Festival De Cannes and got to work with some big guns in the film industry when I had my ass dropped in the Industrial Light and Magic costume shop for about a week. I could talk on and on about working there for a while, but there is no real need to go into much detail about all of this. The only reason that I brought this up is to show where the film snob in me is coming from.

I, like anyone who is open and honest with themselves and the world, watches porn. I actually know where all my husband's porn films are in the closet. We usually watch porn together and it really does spice things up in a marriage. It's always fun to watch other people screwing and enjoying themselves, but there wasn't much in the way of a story in porn before Dream Quest came out. Usually, there would be a little bit of a story to just move the sex along, but that was about it.

I had read a number of reviews about Dream Quest before my husband and I picked it up just to see what the critics where saying about it. All the reviews that I came across loved it and kept saying that it was well acted and actually had a story to it. And guess what, it really had a story and was well acted.

When my husband and I first watched it, we had planned to play with this in the background like we do with most porn films. We didn't play at all. We actually sat and watched the whole film. We both looked at each other surprised that we just sat there and watched it. We actually started talking about the film as if we where talking about some art house film, not a porn.

Brad Armstrong put together one hell of a cast that can actually act just as well as they can screw. The production, filming, editing, costumes, and special effects where the same quality as any big budget Hollywood film that was coming out at the time of its release in 2000.

Porn Queen Jenna Jameson plays a young woman that is pulled into a fantasy world that she has to save. It runs the usual fantasy story formula of finding friends to help her along, fighting baddies to get better before taking on the big baddy. Not to mention all the hot sex that goes on. You get male and female, female and female, and group sex out of the film. So, this is very much for the straight guy, but not that there is anything wrong with that. The story moves nicely and the sex actually helps move the story and isn't there for just the hell of it.

The DVD has a lot of extras. There ard two bonus scenes that aren't in the film, behind the scenes feature, behind the scenes stills, deleted scenes, audio biographies, commentary by the director/producer Brad Armstrong and a lot of other goodies.

It is well worth picking up if you want something different in porn or if you just like fantasy films.

This is still one of my favorite porns out there. Yes, the sex is very hot, but it's the fact that Dream Quest is actually a good movie that keeps me coming back.
