Feel the burn! But not in a good way...

Very hot burning wax; not good for beginners but if you like a lot of pain then this is for you. For everyone else I would recommend using a massage candle, as it is a much lower temperature wax or even a store bought candle that is either soy wax or a low melt temperature wax as you will have a better experience.

Purpose / Audience

Despite being in the "Adult Games" category, this product is not really designed as a game. It is more for those who want to experiment in wax and temperature play. The Sensual Hot Wax kit by Pipedream has at least 2/3 of their packaging right: "Hot Wax".

Designed to be a cooler burning wax than that of a regular household candle, no residue and quick to cool, these candles are supposed to be lit and dripped on your blindfolded partner to provide an erotic experience.

Rules / Content

Again, it's not really designed as a game though you could probably make it into one. The Sensual Hot Wax kit contains 4 hot wax candles and a black mask to keep the person that’s about to get burned with hot wax from knowing when the drops are about to hit their skin.

Design

Designed to be a cooler burning wax, this candle set falls short. They look like the emergency candles that you would buy at a general store; when compared with a box of those emergency household candles that I had bought, it is hard to tell the difference between them! The size and the melt temperature between the two different candle types are the same, making it cheaper to just buy a set from your local store however this isn't always safe.

Since these candles were designed to be dripped on the skin, one would think that the wax would at least be cool enough to not burn too severely. Although the wax does cool a little bit faster than that of the store bought box it is only faster by a couple seconds. The only real difference between the sensual hot wax candles and the store bought emergency candles is that cleanup is a little bit easier with the sensual hot wax which is nice for quick removal.

Experience

I bought these candles thinking that it would be fun to at least try something new and that the candles would be cooler burning than anything I had in the house already except for maybe my massage candles. Before going all out and just having the hot wax dripped all over different places on me and my partner I decided to test a couple drips on a tougher part of my skin. Holy crap did it burn! The initial sensation was painful as the hot wax hit and then slowly cooled and was replaced by a deeper burning sensation on my skin. Once I was able to peel off the wax I saw that my skin was red and slightly blistered from the wax.

Curious now, I got an emergency candle from a box since they look very similar in design and decided to test it to see how similar the wax burned. Not surprisingly they fared about the same; the cheap emergency candles needed a few seconds more to cool down and were a little harder to clean up. Still curious I grabbed a taper candle which was made with a much softer wax and tested the wax temperature when it was burning. I was surprised to find that it burned much cooler and cooled faster than both the sensual hot wax and the emergency candle wax. Lesson learned! I will only be using my massage candles and softer wax candles for anything that is going to involve hot wax in contact with my skin in the future.

OMG....this is a horrible product!!! I'm so glad you tested it first. I can't even imagine how this would feel on the more sensitive skin of the inner thighs, for example. Wow. After reading this review, I would hope that EF would stop selling these. I would think that most people who are really into pain and hardcore kink wouldn't be buying these, anyways. This isn't the market for it.

I'm sorry these did not work for you. They seem cheap as well. I really liked the idea. I think someone who likes a lot of pain may enjoy these.. but for me I think I will past. Hope your skin is better now.
