Adult Mad Libs Bachelorette Bash - book discontinued by Roadside Amusements - review by ~LaUr3n~

INTRO/USE:

Mad Libs, the classic game of fill in the words-The World's Greatest Party Game, has gone ADULT! I always loved Mad Libs as a kid. This game is so classic. I found the artwork on the front of this "Bachelorette Bash" very cute since I love vintage pinups. That is what caught my attention. I got a few of them for a Bachelorette Party.

We had a great dinner and a few drinks before piling into a limo to go downtown. There were eight of us girls and as I passed out the pads, the girls were instructed to do the Mad Lib to the person to the right of them. Afterward they each read the Mad Libs and we all had some good laughs. Then we voted on the funniest ones and those girls got to keep the pads. I recommend getting this for a bachelorette party or even just a fun girls night out.

RULES:

For those who don't know what Mad Libs are... Mad Libs are normal or silly short stories that have some of the major details blanked out. Blindly you are asked to think of words like adverbs, places, names of people etc. When you have filled in all of the types of words, you look at the story and fill them in. This makes for a really funny story!

Example:

"Next we scored tickets to the Cirque de (insert noun) show where the performers literally took our (insert noun) away."

Filled in:

""Next we scored tickets to the Cirque de (penis) show where the performers literally took our (vagina) away."

DESIGN/MATERIAL:

The flip style pad (about 5"x 8") has 21 different Mad Libs in it. The thing I really like about these are that they all have titles having to do with the bachelorette party or the wedding. Examples are:

Bachelorette Checklist
Scavenger Hunt
Gifts for Bridesmaids
Advice to the Bride-to-be
A Proposal Story

It includes instructions and even a page that explains what the different word types are e.g. adverb, noun, etc. Other blanks are things like body parts, people's name, places etc. The pages easily tear out if you don't buy one for each person playing. The back has the list of words needed so that you don't ruin the surprise of where they will go when you read it. You of course can just fill them in on the front though. This is what I did. You can also reuse them a few times if you write in pencil.

THE VERDICT:

I am giving these 5 stars. The inexpensive pad had enough in it for everyone at the party and is cheap enough that I bought a few. They were a lot of fun to use and killed time on our drive downtown. The girls enjoyed them and liked that they could take them home to use with their girlfriends too.

Finally used them all! After these were a hit at the Bachelorette party, I had a pad floating around in my car for a while. The left over Madlibs were used on random car trips over the last few months and have been fun even without the bachelorette occasion. I plan to buy more of them for an upcoming party since they were a hit and are inexpensive.
