My interest in the Liquid Latex kit|Body paints: Liquid latex kit was not born of an innate attraction to latex or even to the potentially erotic experience of having my partner painting on my bare skin. I wanted to look funky and sexy for a photo shoot, plain and simple.

It fulfilled every requirement I could have potentially invented and gave me a chance to stand deliciously naked while my brilliantly artistic girlfriend painstakingly stroked stripes across my entire frame with the included brush. The pictures turned out gorgeous and the glitter we added on top only made the images more beautiful.

I can't really describe the paint's quality level in terms of its enjoyment for latex enthusiasts specifically, but for anyone seeking to inject a little creativity, art and playfulness into their love live, this is something you have GOT to try.

The paint is advertised to dry within 10-15 minutes by the heat of your own body and for the most part, this is true. Attempt to twist, turn and bend in shapes that cause one section of paint to come in contact with another section of paint (thigh meeting calf, for example) however, and you will be witness to how 10-15 minutes is an understatement.

You also have to deal with the smell of chemicals. If you're not painting in a ventilated area, you need another space that is ventilated to air out the cans in advance. The kit includes a dust mask which helps immeasurably in the protection of your brain cells (if you're into that sort of thing). All of this is spelled out perfectly in the included instruction manual.

Application was simple. If you can stick a brush in a can and then spread it on a canvas, you can handle this. This kit comes with black, the easiest and most striking color to use, along with gold and rainbow metallic pearl and while you can certainly find a whole litany of other paints available, this kit has everything you would need if you wanted to try latex paint for the first time.

If I can offer you no other latex painting advice, let me offer this: Lotion up like a crazy person before application. Put on more than you normally would and do so right before the painting starts. This will help in the removal process immeasurably. With a couple coats of lotion laid down in advance, removal was an absolute breeze.

We started off the removal process by simply peeling the strips off by hand which was an unbelievably fun time. It made for phenomenal pictures in addition to the surprising amount of enjoyment it added to the whole process. There's something strangely wonderful about pulling long strips of colored paint from a naked body.

After that got old, though, I hopped in a warm shower and the rest of the paint just washed right off with minimal effort. It was easier than cleaning off regular makeup, although I'm unsure about how much the plumbing appreciated it. Oh well. So far, so good.
Follow-up commentary
This product continues to be the most ceaselessly entertaining, convenient and sexy option for body decoration. It's up there with faux eyelashes for instant glamour but is spectacularly versatile. I've used this latex paint now several times: for photo shoots, costume parties and the like. Even though it is several months old, it's still supremely easy to apply, looks flawless once applied and comes off even more simply than face makeup.

Thanks for the review. How much body area were you able to cover with this kit?

We painted all over- any place that doesn't have hair (shaving ahead of time recommended). Obviously it shouldn't be taken internally- so keep it out of your mouth, eyes and other orifices, but it works everywhere else.

Did you paint on your face? If so, how did you handle painting around the hairline, eyebrows, eyes, etc? Or do you even think it's safe to paint around eyes & orificies?
