Shower sutra - adult game discontinued by Little Genie - review by Jul!a

Every now and then, I end up with some money left over on a gift card and the urge to make an impulse buy. This was one of those items. Now while I can't say I really regret getting it, I probably wouldn't buy another one anytime soon either.

Everything about this though, from the box to the board (with the exception of the suction cups), is really well made. The box itself is really well made, with a very sturdy cardboard ensuring that it's not going to get destroyed easily anytime soon. The upside? You'll always have someplace nice to store your board if you don't want to leave it up in the shower. The downside? It's kind of a pain to get into, and it being so well made makes it really hard to want to throw out. The other downside? It's pretty much as not discreet as the board, so there's no keeping it in the open if you fear stuff like that being seen.

The board is made of the same high quality and sturdy cardboard that the box is. It's got nice thick stickers for the design, and they actually do keep water from damaging it at all. Up at the top, each corner has its own little suction cup that hooks through a pre-made hole in the corner. In theory, they both stick great and hold on darn near forever, but my left one just doesn't want to work. I'm not sure why, but I can't even get it to stick to the tile anymore.



So the point here is pretty simple, you spin the dial, it lands on a position, you and your partner act out the position. It's aimed mainly at heterosexual couples, but I see no reason why a creative homosexual couple couldn't make use of this either. The dial works pretty well in the upright position, better than I had expected it to. It will land on one of 12 different position choices, although there's not that many that are really all that different, more like a variation on a few different positions. Like the tripod vs supported congress, or knee suspension vs suspended congress. In reality, there's only 10 different positions offered, because one is his choice and another is her choice.



It's not discreet in the least bit, although I can't imagine anybody buying this would expect it to be. It's bright, it's bold, it's colorful, it's full of sexual positions, and it says "shower-sutra" right across the top.

I'm a little torn on this. I know it's a novelty item, so I know it's not supposed to actually be all that great, but it's made so well, and that really added something for me. The crappy suction cup took away some more, and the addition of needing to be pretty in shape and limber for some of these positions didn't help much. There were some that we could easily do, but some like "the sheep" with rear entry sex with the man standing behind the woman who is bent over with her legs straight and her hands touching the floor? I can't do that. It's not going to happen. Even without the 10" height difference between us, I just cannot maintain a position like that. Especially when I'm trying to avoid hitting my head on the wall or trying to keep water out of my face since avoiding the wall means being under the spray.

It's a cute idea, and if you have the extra money for it or need an extra gift for a bachelor/bachelorette party, this isn't a bad idea. But there are probably better ways to have creative sex in the shower.
