The Ophoria a-vibe is well suited as a beginner's vibrating anal pacifier. If you are looking for a small non-intimidating way to break into anal play, this may be the toy for you. With its curved shape, the A-vibe looks as though it could be used to hit the P and G-spot (too small to hit the G-spot for me). Those looking for a girthy toy should look elsewhere. I recommend tying a string on this little guy for solo anal play involving any intense thrusting; with its lack of a base (besides the finger hole), this toy may get lost.

The A-vibe comes as a silicone sleeve that has a cavity in the base for the insertion of the included mini vibrator bullet. The sleeve is a lovely little piece of curved silicone with no taste or smell. The texture of the silicone is a smooth matte finish. This does provide some resistance/drag when inserted dry so the use of a lube is recommended. When lubed up (remember to use a water-based when playing with silicone toys, the a-vibe sleeve has a nice smooth feel to it. Being silicone, the A-vibe sleeve can easily be cleaned with your choice of boiling/bleaching.

The silicone is firm with a just little give when squeezing. When bending the sleeve, the neck is the most flexible point and has a bulbous head that bends about 30 degrees. This did not cause any problems during insertion.

The mini-vibe is made from thin plastic and houses three watch batteries. When the vibe is fully inserted into the sleeve, it sits flush within the cavity opening in the ring end and leaves the top exposed for access to the on/off button. There is one speed that ranks about two bees in my book and it is pretty high in frequency/buzz. The vibe does not appear to be waterproof due to the lack of an O-ring.

The circumference around different parts of the Ophoria A-vibe are:

3 1/8 inches at the widest part of the head

2 inches at the neck bellow the head

3 5/8 inches at the base

The diameter of the ring is about 1 inch or larger so fingers beware.

The head of the sleeve curves naturally at about a 40 degree angle. As a female, I can't speak to its effectiveness on P-spotting but, due to its small size, it did not hit the G spot for me.

When the vibe is inserted into the sleeve the vibrations can be felt throughout the shaft and head and easily transfers onto my hand. When using the A-vibe anally, the vibrations are most noticeable around the anus and not so much internally.

When I bought this vibe my whole plan was to just put it in and let it vibe away. In that, it's a great success. When the vibe decided it wanted to stay on, it left me free to put my hands to other uses. I did not buy this to use as a thrusting toy but simply as a vibrating anal plug.

*Note when going hands-free, I only insert the head portion of the shaft; anything past that would be far too unsafe to leave un-monitored.

As for cleanup, this is a nightmare. The point of using silicone is for easy maintenance and the ability to sterilize it. The bullet is a nightmare to remove from the silicone shaft; it took me a half an hour and pliers to remove it. In the end, the vibe was totaled.

The bullet sits totally snug and flush in the sleeve and is the size of a tube of chap-stick so trying to get any sort of grip on it is practically impossible. The sleeve itself bends back a bit. Eventually I was able get a hold of it after monkeying around forever - the silicone of the ring is rather thin and I did not want to damage it. However, as I was pulling, the cap popped off the bullet leaving the rest of the vibe trapped inside. This led to the thin plastic casing around the bullet's cap getting cracked. . . bye bye cheap bullet. Really, this was not a great loss as the bullet was pretty weak and glitchy. I later replaced with the broken mini-bullet from a standard vibe that stuck out past the ring. This allowed me to easily remove the bullet to clean the silicone sleeve.

When you eventually get the bullet out of the shaft, it can be cleaned by boiling for 5 minutes, a wipe down with diluted bleach, or by throwing it in the dishwasher without dishwasher soap (as that might discolor the silicone). Only use water-based lubes with this toy. Silicone toys can be degraded by silicone lube.

The A-vibe arrived packed in a white box the simply read "Ophoria A-vibe Anal vibrator" - no gaudy pictures to be found, thank goodness. Inside the box, it was nestled in a foam cutout with the sleeve/shaft separate from the mini-vibe bullet. The mini-vibe batteries were already inserted inside. Just unscrew the cap and remove the plastic piece that keeps them from making contact. The instructions were included in a booklet that was easy to follow along. I do not store my A-vibe in the box as it's small enough to just keep in a drawer.

The cheap vibe and hard removal process killed my initial enjoyment of this toy. After replacing the vibe with a high intensity bullet, it functions well for what I bought for - which is use it as a small vibrating anal plug/pacifier. If you are looking for a toy to do anything other than that, there are much better toys out there.
