The Anal Fantasy Butt Bead was a big surprise for me. Emphasis on the big. I'm relatively new to anal toys (this is only my second), and I have a chronic failing when it comes to toys: I always underestimate their size, even when I use the “view actual size” feature. Luckily, I love a challenge, and this toy is particularly forgiving to those of us whose eyes are perpetually bigger than our orifices.

First impression: The icky new toy smell was there, but it wasn't overpowering, and faded after a good washing. Second impression: Oh shit, that's big. And it goes WHERE? Oops. Third impression: This is gonna be FUN!

My first test-run of this toy was alone. I ran a nice, hot bath, and grabbed the silicone lube. When I put the batteries into the Anal Fantasy, I noticed a nice, fat O-ring. Waterproof controller! I don't know about you, but I always get rather frustrated when a toy is waterproof, but the controller isn't, because while cleanup is easy, I can't take the toy into the water with me. As a girl who likes her shower and bath time to have a little spice, a fully waterproof toy is a big plus.

After relaxing in the hot tub with another vibrator, it was time to get to work. I picked up the Anal Fantasy from where I'd stuck it to the wall of the bath... or at least, I tried. That suction cup is stronger than it looks! Once you stick it to a smooth surface, especially a wet smooth surface, it's not going anywhere. So, I pried my prize off of the wall, lubed it up, and turned it on. It definitely has a powerful but not overly loud buzz, which is always appreciated. Very gently, I eased in the first bulb, then the second and third. Damn, did it feel good. The first two were a little interesting to get in, because they are so thin that they bend and wobble all over the place, so you'll have to guide them in. Also, the vibration is weakest in them, more of a gentle tease. Not that that's a bad thing... But the vibes definitely get stronger at that third bulb, which is right over that nice big bullet. The fourth bulb went in easily—and then it stopped. Try as I might, I could not get that last bulb to go in. However, it was still a lot of fun using the rest of the toy for that night.

As I found, this is a very beginner-friendly toy, especially if you want to work your way up to something larger. You can stop at whatever bulb feels comfortable without it sliding around like with some larger, smooth toys. It took me about a week of playtime to work my way from the fourth bulb to the last, and when I finally made it, it was worth every moment. The Anal Fantasy Beaded Plug is a real treat, giving me a deliciously full feeling, while still being soft enough to mold to my body and not jab me at an inopportune moment. The suction-cup base was big enough to be reassuring to an anal newbie that it wasn't going to slip in and get lost, without being big enough to cause discomfort.

And now, the moment of truth: cleanup time. The dreaded “darn, I have to get up out of my blissful post-orgasm haze and clean the object of my lustful affections” moment. Luckily, this toy is very easy to clean. Yes, it's jelly, so it can never be truly sanitized, but it's smooth and waterproof, so standard cleanup with water and antibacterial soap does just fine. For those who use them, spray-on-wipe-off toy cleaners work very well with this toy (just don't wipe them off with something that will leave lint, or you will be sorry, trust me), as do toy cleaning wipes. Remember, because you can't sanitize jelly, no sharing this toy without a condom!

With the help of some condoms and a lot of lube, he has now tried this toy on a few occasions and has always been left unsatisfied. Yes, it's a nice end-girth. Yes, it's a nice length. Yes, it's a nice design, it's a nice set of vibration levels, and with condoms the material isn't an issue. But he needs firm stimulation and loves harder toys, so this just didn't do it for him. It wobbled too much, and was too soft.

For a while, when I wanted anal stimulation, this was the toy I reached for. I loved the length, the varying girth, the vibration. I didn't love the material, but was willing to overlook it for a toy that worked for my body. Then, for medical reasons, I had to stop all anal play for a while. When I started up again, I had to start from the very beginning. I've never been able to work myself up to the length of this toy again. Girth, sure, with a lot of play and relaxation I can take similar girths in other toys, but I just can't take the length any more.

Neither of us uses this toy now, and though it served well and faithfully, its time in our collection is done.
