Use

The Joyballs Anal Wave is a perfect toy for anyone interested in anal beads. The tip is small enough that even the most novice user should have little problem warming up to this toy. Other bead sets are actually acrylic beads with a hole through each, and attached to a string. That design makes most beads nearly impossible to clean and sterilize. In contrast, the Joyballs are 100% medical grade silicone(more on that later), and each bead or bulge is part of a line of connected beads. There are no seams, no cracks, and no sharp edges. My favorite feature of this toy is that the company chose not to make the beads gradually larger as the toy progresses, but instead the bead size undulates throughout, getting larger then smaller then larger again, hence the name "wave". This produces a unique sensation that is quite pleasant.

Material / Texture

The matte finish medical grade silicone is luscious in its perfection. This is my first silicone toy and from descriptions I thought it was going to be somewhat hard and unforgiving, but this silicone is divine. I would say the closest density comparison might be a fresh grape that wont squish, and indeed some of the beads around a similar size. Side note: Grapes are not anal toys... Silicone is one of the safest materials on the market today and it is extremely easy to clean by boiling or with a 10% bleach solution. There was no smell at all when I opened the packaging or since.

Design / Shape / Size

The full length of the Joyballs is 11 1/2" with 9 3/4" insertable. I first thought this would be far too much, but found that with the soft flexibility of the toy and the small end, this toy isn't painful in any form of use. The smallest bead is around 3/8", while the largest is 1" in diameter. This makes the toy great for all levels of experience, but some may wish for something larger in diameter. The ring on the end is a huge plus: not only is it easy to pull the beads out with, but it is also large enough that I have no fear of losing it up my ass. While the ring is great for removal, don't count on using it for insertion, the flexibility that makes this toy so comfortable inside, makes it somewhat cumbersome to insert because it is so wobbly. This is really my only criticism,and I believe that it is an unavoidable problem. The toy is not really discrete, if someone sees it, they will know you shove beads up your ass, however, who is to say they wont be jealous?

Performance

I love this toy. It is definitely one of my favorites now. It is not too big, not too small, and beautifully soft and flexible. The total length seems long for me, but everyone is different. The ring is a great size and ensures that it will never go deeper than intended. The variation in size of the balls makes for an intense sensation, one I haven't seen in other toys.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of 100% medical grade Silicone, which can be fully sterilized by boiling for 3 minutes. This makes this toy great for sharing, just sterilize before swapping. Lube is a must for anal toys, and ss with all silicone toys, only use water based lube. A silicone lube might react with the material. The small pouch provided helps the toy be a little more discrete, however the pouch could be a little larger to accommodate such a long toy. To get the beads in the pouch, one must wind the beads into a tight spiral shape and force them into the small bag.

Packaging

The packaging for the joyballs is a simple cardboard box with a chrome like reflective coating on the outside. The beads, clearly displayed in a formed plastic window are easily visible. On the packaging is information about the toy and its uses in many languages. Here it also mentions that its made in Germany, and that there is a 5 year material guarantee. Good to know.

Graphically, the packaging was interesting and informative but not necessarily noteworthy, however it was important to see that it wasn't some cheap plastic bag or something like that: classy and simple.

Follow-up commentary
I still like this product, but I feel that it could be improved in a few ways:

1. I dont feel there is any reason for these beads to be as long as they are. The 9 3/4" insertable length is not uncomfortable, but its no more pleasant or arousing when only half is inserted. A toy this long often ends up with messy results.

2. I prefer something a little larger. Admittedly, this is a personal preference, and many customers might be happy with the 1" maximum diameter, but I am hungry for more.

3. A little stiffer. The beads have a wonderful velvety matte texture, and are a perfect density, but the joints are much thinner. While the toy is made from one single piece, meaning all the material is the same, the places between the nubs is thin enough that the toy becomes too flexible, making it somewhat difficult to insert because the toy bends in all directions but towards my butt.

Because of these reasons, I feel that the slightly larger and shorter model of the same name (but in blue) joyballs anal wave would be a better choice. Personally I think the diameter could still go larger (there is only a 1/8" difference) but still a superior product to the longer red model.

    WHEN are these going to be available? Some of us tested the newer JoyDivision stuff in August or October, and I'm still waiting for them to be available. I really would love a set of these beads, if they are half as good as JoyDivision The Body phallic vibe, it's a winner.
