The Glass pig tail plug by Icon Brands is a cutesy, whimsical anal plug that many will enjoy during pet or animal play. It can be incorporated into bdsm scenes, especially those that include some humiliation, "That's a good little piggy, eat your slop!". Just be sure to use lots of lubricant because that adorable design does add a wee bit of texture to the bulb end.
The Glass pig tail plug by Icon Brands is part of their Fashionistas line of toys, of which you can find a few other products here on Edenfantasys. This plug is meant to be used anally so men and women can both enjoy the use of this particular toy. The size of the plug is also great for beginners to anal play even though the material is very rigid and doesn't have any give to it so there's no need to be intimidated by that.
Bath time fun and shower play is definitely possible with this plug but it does require the use of lubricant, we all know that the anal cavity is not self-lubricating like a vagina. On that note just grab your favorite lubricant and go to town with this toy but do be careful about bumping the tail end off of surfaces, it may break off easily.
The material of this plug also makes it fantastic for temperature play for those who are into that sort thing with their anal toys. Just warm it up or cool it down by soaking it in some warm or iced water for a while and then dry off and lubricate the surface for easy insertion.
As for incorporating this toy during sex you must use lots of caution because it does protrude while inserted with the tail end. Beyond that this plug is great for those who are into pet/animal play or humiliation during those times when you're engaging in some bdsm fun.
The pig tail plug is made from borosilicate glass, otherwise known as Pyrex, and that gives it a 10 out of 10 rating on the Eden materials safety scale. This means that glass is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, phthalates-free, latex-free and food-grade material. The glass in this case is also an opaque black in color, is very shiny and has a design stamped onto the bulb part in a metallic, antiqued golden color.
While the stamped design can be felt when running your fingers over it, it cannot be felt during use but it does require a bit more lubricant to glide easily. Using any kind of lubricant with this plug is fine since it's made from glass so water, silicone or oil based will do. The only part of the plug that has a very slight odor is where it's stamped on the bulb, but it's barely noticeable unless you put your nose right on it.
The pig tail plug is shaped very much like the typical tapered plug and starts at its pointed tip at around 1/4" in diameter. Its widest point in the middle of the bulb is 1 1/4" in diameter and then it tapers back down going up to the neck to about 5/8" in diameter. The flared base measures 1 1/8" in diameter and that's not even bigger than the widest part of the bulb but somehow it doesn't just slide in and get lost. After the flared base is where the "pig tail" begins measuring 1/2" in diameter and it stays straight for about 1" before it curls and then squiggles out at the tip which measures only 1/4" in diameter.
The design on the bulb of the plug is comprised of two flying pigs, small fences, scrolling and flowing plants with flowers, stars and even a dragonfly. It's cute and whimsical in nature but it probably would have been better executed had it been placed inside the glass or elsewhere on the plug itself. It can be felt with fingers, not while inserted but it does require more lubricant than completely smooth glass plugs.
The tail end of the plug is definitely attached after the bulb portion is made but there are no noticeable gaps or seams there where they connect. While the plug is inserted the tail end does protrude and looks quite piggy-like but DO NOT SIT DOWN WHILE THIS PLUG IS INSERTED. I can't say often enough how dangerous it could be to sit with this plug inserted so only use it when you plan on crawling, walking or standing a lot. On a different note, I can fit my pointer finger in the circular hole of the tail up to the second knuckle and my finger measures 5/8" in diameter and just under 2" in circumference for reference.
As an anal plug this performed just fine and surprisingly stayed put even though the flared base is smaller in diameter than the widest part of the bulb. More lubricant is required with this particular glass plug but that's only because it has a design stamped right on the bulb that is easily felt with fingers. Once lubricated this plug glides along smoothly and the design cannot be felt internally.
The shape of this plug somehow keeps it right where it should be so there were no issues with it becoming lost and it didn't come sliding right out either. Those folks who are into humiliating bdsm play or pet/animal play will probably enjoy this plug the most because it can definitely help add some "realism" to those types of scenes. Not being able to sit down with this plug inserted could possibly add some further fun for those folks as well.
For those just looking for a typical kind of plug experience I would suggest you look at some other plugs because the tail end on this one will definitely limit what you can do with it if you're not into the aforementioned types of play.
Like any other glass toy this one is easy to clean and care for; just wash with warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. You can also wipe it down with toy wipes or rub a 10% bleach solution over it. Just be sure to rinse it thoroughly after using bleach so you don't introduce harsh chemicals into sensitive body areas. This plug can also be sterilized by boiling it for a few minutes or washing it in the top rack of your dishwasher without detergent.
To store your glass plug, be sure to make or purchase some kind of padded pouch for it because it doesn't come with one in the packaging. After properly protecting your plug you can store it wherever you store your other toys whether it be in a drawer, on a shelf in a closet or some kind of box.
The glass pig tail plug came packaged in Icon Brands' typical plastic box for their Fashionistas line of toys. It has a clear window on the front where you can see the toy and it is clearly labeled on the front as to what is inside the box just in case you couldn't tell from the window alone. The back of the box shows all of the other Fashionistas toys that Icon Brands makes and has a short description on the plug itself. Also listed on the back is "Beautiful glass plug with elegant flourishes. Hand-blown pig tail" in seven different languages.
Inside the plastic box there is a clear plastic insert that is molded to fit the plug itself right in it. That's about it for the inside, no padding or other packing materials to ensure the safety of the glass. The packaging is quite minimal and very unsuitable for long term storage. It's also very non-discreet so wrapping this up before gifting it to someone is required unless they don't embarrass easily.
This pig tail plug is very cute and worked out well for testing it but I have to honestly say it just isn't really my thing. I prefer to use plugs that are comfortable while sitting down and doing a number of other things. I can't imagine this plug being very comfortable during sex for either party just because the tail end does stick out and could get caught on just about anything.
This plug was very easy to use and there were no problems inserting it even though it requires more lubricant than most other glass plugs. My only concern with the size of it was that the flared base is actually smaller in diameter than the widest part of the bulb and I thought it may just keep going right on in and get lost or something but it never budged. For those folks who are more advanced in anal play I could see this being an issue quite possibly so just be forewarned.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it3 months after original review
This cute little plug is still an interesting toy to use but I don't actually pull it out of our toy box very often. There are no cracks or chips and the painted on design is still hanging in there.
