The Anal Probe by Doc Johnson has two main uses. The first is exactly what the name implies: anal insertion and prostate massage. The second option is to use this toy vaginally; it is great for g-spotting. In either case, there is a handle you can hold, which will prevent you from losing the toy inside of your body.

If you are into BDSM, this probe can also double as a flogger. Since it is very flexible, it does swing through the air pretty easily. It does pack a punch, so I don't recommend you try this if you (or your partner) don't like pain.

This probe can be used by a variety of people. Although the size may seem daunting to a beginner, it can be used as an introduction to anal play. I recommend you take your time and test your limits slowly since this product may be too big for some people. Intermediate and advanced users may also enjoy this product; however, it may not be thick enough for some.

The Anal Probe can be used solo or with a partner.

The product page states that the Anal Probe is made of rubber. However, the packaging, more specifically, states that the product is made of Sil-A-Gel.

Sil-A-Gel is a type of PVC, which isn't the safest material; it is only a 5 out of 10 on the EdenFantasys material safety guide. The reason is that material is somewhat porous and cannot be sanitized as well as other materials. If you plan on sharing this toy with another person or using it for multiple bodily orifices, a condom should be used. The packaging states that the probe is made with an "antibacterial Sil-A-Gel formula", but it is better to take the proper precautions.

Additionally, Sil-A-Gel tends to be a lint magnet. As you may have noticed in the picture above, within minutes of opening my Anal Probe, several strands of cat hair stuck to it. Debris do comes off easily though with just a bit of soap and water.

On a positive note, Sil-A-Gel is water resistance and can last for quite a long time (with proper care). Additionally, the product is phthalate free.

The Anal Probe is very smooth, which makes for easy insertion. You can also use either silicone or water-based lubricant with the probe; therefore, it will be even easier to use the Anal Probe.

The insertable portion of the dildo is un-textured. The handle, however, goes have a series of circular rings that wrap abound it.

In all honestly, I hated the flexibility of the Anal Probe. While I would not want a stiff toy for anal use, I don't want a floppy toy either. The Anal Probe is just that: too bendy for it's own good. The extreme flexibility made it difficult to insert the probe and even harder to maneuver for thrusting.

The Anal Prove is quite simple in design. It is comprised of a circular head (which looks like a ball), a shaft that gets thicker as you get closer to the base, and a handle. Despite it's simplicity, it does get the job done.

The circular head has one major benefit and one major negative aspect. On the plus side, the head is great for P-spotting and G-spotting. However, it is a big large. I had to be really turned on an use a large amount of lubricant in order to have my partner insert the probe. Otherwise, it was just painful.

The Anal Probe is 12.5 inches in total length. 7 of those inches are insertible, while the additional 5.5 are designated to the handle.

At the thicket point, which is the head, the circumference measures 4.5 inches.

The probe weighs in at about a pound. While that isn't overly heavy, it can be hard to maneuver, especially since the product is so long!

I will admit that I do not like this product for anal use. I am just getting into anal play and quickly learned that this probe is too advanced for me. Although many reviewers have stated that this product is good for beginners, that may not be the case. While I agree that many people will find it pleasurable (even beginners), it just didn't work for me. The large, bulbous head, coupled with the product's extreme flexibility caused a decent amount of pain for me. When I did finally insert it, I had to use a large amount of lubricant. Even then, I was uncomfortable and did not use the probe for long.

My boyfriend, however, has more experience with anal play and did not have a problem with the size. Although he was not a fan of the way the product bends, his experience was fat better than mine. Moreover, my boyfriend found it more pleasurable when I maneuvered the product; he said it was too awkward to use it on himself.

I then decided to try this toy vaginally. My favorite position was on all fours. In this position, the probe's weight pulled the head forwards, allowing it to stimulate my g-spot. As with my boyfriend, I found it more enjoyable when I wasn't in charge of the thrusting. The product's length is hard to handle when you take the flexibility into account.

The last way in which I decided to use this product was as a whip. My boyfriend and I engage in BDSM activities, so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for us. However, I wouldn't suggest that anyone try this. If you do give it a shot, start with gentle swings in order to test your (or your partner's) endurance.

As mentioned earlier, the Anal Probe is porous, and therefore, cannot be fully sanitized. You can keep the probe in the best possible shape by cleaning with with warm water and anti-bacterial soap after each use. Additionally, you can increase the safety of the probe by using a condom. Although the product isn't hard to clean, I consider it to be one of my more high maintenance toys since you should take the time to clean it thoroughly.

You will want to store this product in a clean place since the Anal Probe is a lint magnet. You can keep it in the original plastic packaging, but I found it to be a bit bulky and awkward. Instead, I choose to keep mine in a Ziplock bag.

The Anal Probe came in a clear plastic case.

From the front, you can see the product, so it's definitely nor discreet. Even if someone wasn't able to tell what the product is just be looking at it, the words "anal probe" are visible.

The back is not see through. Rather, there is a cardboard insert that contains some product information, including that the product is made in the US.

For those of you, like myself, who like to "go green", you can recycle the packaging materials.
