The Screw Royal is an intermediate butt plug. It has a very adequate base to keep the plug from being sucked all the way inside the body.

Butt plugs can be used in many occasions, such as during intercourse, masturbation, spicing up grocery shopping, laundry, whatever you please. Any gender can use this, and anyone who can accept about two fingers' worth of diameter into their butt.

It's very, very comfortable during use due to its softness. This may not stay in during intercourse in some positions, but I have not had any issues with it falling out.

This toy is made of super soft, squishy silicone, making it nonporous, odorless, tasteless, bad stuff-free, and perfect for butt play. It's very flexible, but not floppy, with grooves running most of the insertable portion of the plug. It feels wonderful to insert and remove, and to squeeze one's sphincter muscles around. Because the silicone is so soft, even those who don't like much texture would enjoy this.

The plug looks like a tapered screw, with a very large, but unobtrusive thread. Or, perhaps soft serve ice cream in a nice little swirl. I got the black-and-glow-in-the-dark and it's nicely swirled throughout, with no particular area that's all dark or all white. As everything by Whipspider Rubberworks is handmade, yours will look different than your neighbor's.

The plug is 5 inches long, with 4.25 inches insertable. It is nicely tapered, with the thinnest point being 1 inch in diameter (3 inches in circumference) and the largest point being 1.5 inches in diameter (4.75 inches in circumference). The neck is 1 inch in diameter, and .5 inches long. The base is 1.5 inches wide and 3 inches long. It's very unobtrusive and comfortable between the cheeks.

I found I could not literally "screw" it in to my ass, as it was too soft and the thread would get lost, but that it felt amazing simply sliding it in and out. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Everything about it is absolutely fantastic. It's soft, comfortable, easy and pleasurable to insert, and just all around great.

It's a little painful for me to use a dildo (even my smallest!) vaginally in conjunction with this toy. The ridges make it really uncomfortable during thrusting. That said, it definitely gives off enough pleasure to be used on its own.

Like all silicone toys, you can wash it with hot water and soap for day-to-day cleaning or boil it for 5 minutes, bleach it with a 10% bleach solution, or put it in the dishwasher (top rack, no soap) to disinfect it.

The Screw Royal does collect a ton of lint, however, so keep this in mind when storing it. Don't store it with lesser materials, as it may cause a chemical reaction. It's easiest to just store it in a Ziploc baggy of its own.

Silicone is compatible with water- and oil-based lubes. Do a spot-test on the bottom of the toy before using silicone lubes with it.

Packaging is simple but helpful. It comes in a clear, quart-sized zip-lock bag with a postcard-sized piece of cardstock giving information on Whipspider Rubberworks and how to care for the toy. The bag is great for storage, and I appreciate the eco-friendliness of the simple packaging.

The Screw Royal is a wonderful buttplug for those that enjoy texture. It's different from your regular plug as it has amazing ridges and a very comfortable base, in conjunction with a nicely tapered body.

The neck could be a bit longer, but this isn't a total deal-breaker.

Objectively and subjectively, it's a 5. A well-made, handmade plug that glows in the DARK!
