Rad Ridges

There are very few things to complain about in the Ridge Rider. It is a well-designed, well-constructed, and recently well-used toy that is more than capable of making you forget that you own others. It can be used to stimulate the g-spot or prostate, and if you're looking for an anal toy that won't pop out during sex, than the Ridge Rider is worth investing in. It contains a small but powerful vibrator too, and is loaded with multiple settings to suit your every lustful whim.

Use

The Nexus Ridge Rider is toy designed for people who know exactly where they like it. G-spot or P-spot, this device is capable of reaching both with an intriguing array of vibration patterns and strong, gratifying levels of intensity. Ideal for solo play, or for hands-free anal stimulation during intercourse, the Ridge Rider stays put thanks to its 8 prominent ridges (I counted them). And if you like a little external stimulation to compliment the internal, well, the Ridge Rider has you covered there too. It's flared base is uniquely molded to tease and entice the clitoris for lady users, as well as the perineum area for the gents.

Despite it's appeal for either sex, for the purpose of this review, I'll be referring to the Ridge Rider as a prostate massager. That's just how I roll.

Material / Texture

The makers of the Ridge Rider were smart in choosing silicone as their construction medium. It is at once both soft to the touch and firm at the core. It is bendable to a point, yet sturdy. On the surface it is smooth like velvet, and not slick and shiny like some other silicone varieties. For these reasons I would say it feels incredible as a sex toy, but it doesn't feel especially realistic, it's too firm for that. I don't consider this a downside, however, since firmer toys conduct vibration better than flimsy ones. And vibration is this toy's best asset.

The silicone used in the Ridge Rider's construction seems of excellent quality, possessing zero visible residue or odors out of the box. This serves to remind me that premium silicone is a safe and health-smart choice in sex toy materials. This particular variety is, as mentioned on it's product page: food-grade, latex free, phthalate free, and hypo-allergenic. Let's not forget that Ridge Rider is non-porous as well, meaning that as long as it is adequately cleaned between uses, this toy will not harbor dangerous bacteria and contaminants, and it will last you a long, long time.

Design / Shape / Size

5 inches in total length, and 1.25 inches in girth, the Ridge Rider is adequately sized to please both beginners and seasoned vets that aren't looking to win any contests. This is a toy that is purpose-built, rather than thrill inspired. Designed comparably to the handle of a baseball or hockey stick, both of which are sometimes taped in a ribbed fashion to allow the fingers to form a secure grip. Similarly, Ridge Rider's shaft is ribbed in such a way as to keep it lodged securely inside the body. Many times I've been frustrated by butt plugs and prostate toys that simply won't stay put during sex. Well, I'm thrilled to finally say that, in the Ridge Rider, I've found a toy that does.

In shape, Ridge Rider is slightly curved, and with an insertable length of 4.25 inches, I found it was ideally situated inside me to put comfortable pressure on my p-spot. This, combined with the toy's prominent ridges, made the Ridge Rider the best and most effective prostate massager/ anal vibrator I've tried. Even without the vibrations, the pressure on the prostate was mild and consistent, and I found it greatly improved the intensity of orgasm. In my opinion, the mere fact that a toy doesn't need high powered electronic functions to bring its owner to riveting climax is a testament to its quality, something that the Ridge Rider possesses in spades.

Performance

I really like the vibrator in this toy, and I can't believe that so much power can be squeezed out one little AAA. But it's not just powerful, it's innovative. Here's why: there are 5 settings ranging from pulsating, to "shuffle", to a sort-of revving 0-60 setting, and the variety is effective and refreshing. Also, the battery hatch is so easy to use. It comes with a little tab-like button that is easily pressed for effortless, uncomplicated refilling.

I'd say that the vibrations are centered in the lower half of the toy, near the base, rather than near the tip. At first I thought this would take away from it's effectiveness as a prostate massager. Not so. I found that the silicone conducted the vibrations exceptionally well, and my p-spot was absolutely inundated with sensation.

Noise wise, the Ridge Rider sounds like a honey bee on steroids, but as soon as it is inside, the sound quickly fades away. The only con, as far the vibrator is concerned, is that it does tend to deplete batteries quickly. But than again, anyone leaving the Ridge Rider on for any extended length of time, as I am increasingly prone to do, will find that batteries get used up fast too. It's simply not a toy you'll want to turn off.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is great stuff. It can be cleaned and sterilized quite easily, and with minimal care, it can last you a very long time. Simply cleanse it by placing it in boiling water, your dishwasher, or scrub it thoroughly with soap and hot water in your bathroom sink. As for storage, keep it in a dry, clean place away from dust and sunlight. Honestly, with common-sense, you'll do fine.

Aside from the usual rant about the joys of silicone, there is one impressive feature about the Ridge Rider that I have yet to mention. During cleaning, you can remove the inner mechanical core to prevent the motor from getting wet. They really thought this thing through. Here is a product that works well, is made of quality materials, is sure to last me through years of use, and is easy to maintain. Too bad I can't say the same about my car.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
I must say, this toy continues to impress. Considering that it only requires one AAA battery, it really packs a wollup. Add to that its many setting, and the chances of becoming bored with this product, after one use or one-hundred, are slim to none. This one is worth the investment.

"Hard on Batteries" could be interpreted more than one way.

I agreee on the battery. The first on, that it came with, died on the second use. The next battery has lasted through four uses so far.
    Wonderful review.

Wonderful review, thank you! Even if the toy is hard on batteries, it's just one AAA, which is much more convenient than say, 6 watch batteries that die after a few hours of use.
