Shock Therapy Pain Probe

I would pass on this one for its poor design. I can understand if you are into BDSM and shock play, but the design is just so bad that I would even call it unsafe. Until they give it a bigger flared base for anal play and do something about the seams, it is just not worth it.

Use

"The sleek design features a tapered tip and base, making it ideal for both vaginal or anal play" states the box. While I can agree with the vaginal play, I have to strongly disagree with using it for any type of anal play. The base is flared, but it is so small that I could see it going in further than you would want it to go. It does have a power cord attached to it, but I would not recommend using it as a retrieval string. I would say you could use it for anal if it were used with a condom, but using a condom would not work with the contacts on the probe and would turn it into a very small butt plug.

It comes with a handheld unit that can be used by itself or plugged into the probe as a controller. The unit also has two contact points, and holding it in your hand will send pulses through it. It can be used on just about any body part big enough to touch both contacts at once.

Material / Texture

Both the handheld unit and the probe are made from a black plastic, with the contact points being metal. The metal has an almost brushed nickel look to it. The plastic has a silky feel to it. The probe has a contact point on each side, and there is a seam all the way around from top to bottom. The seam on mine can be felt, unlike the seams on most silicone toys; this one does hurt slightly. Being that it is made of plastic and metal, there is no give or flex at all. It is very firm. The only texture comes from the seams; everywhere else is pretty smooth.

Design / Shape / Size

I did not like the seams. I know that you can't make a plastic toy without some kind of seam. But maybe if they used some kind of rubber or, even better, some kind of silicone cover over the plastic, it would feel a lot better. Also, as stated above, the flared base needs to be more pronounced to be used anally. The base on this one is almost not even there.

There appears to be some seams between the metal contact points and the plastic, which I believe make this toy difficult to keep clean. I do not believe this was designed for sharing.

Performance

I picked this out thinking that it would be fun to play with, but it missed all the marks. The unit uses a lithium cell battery, making it harder to replace when dead.

The pulses on this were either not there or so bad that they hurt. There was no pleasure at all. The battery only lasted about five minutes. I do not know if that was because the probe sucks the life out of batteries or because the battery that came with the unit was old and not holding a full charge. But because we did not enjoy using it, I won't go to the store and pick up another battery to see which was the problem.

There is a slow and fast setting. The slow setting gives you a shock about every half of a second. The fast setting is so fast that you can't tell how quickly they are coming.

Care and Maintenance

Because of the material it is made from, you can use any lube you have in your nightstand. It comes in a box with a plastic insert that you can keep it stored in. It helps keep the cord from getting tangled up with your other toys.

As far as cleaning goes, you can wash the probe with it unplugged. I would not suggest submerging it in water as it does not state that it is waterproof. The handheld unit can only be wiped down with a damp cloth, even with the battery removed. Both the handheld unit and the probe have lots of cracks and seams to trap body fluids, making it a toy you do not want to share with anyone else.

Personal comments

This probe is going into the garbage as soon as this review is written. I only used it for one night, and that was too much. It was just a bad toy all around for us.
Follow-up commentary
This went right into the trash after the review was written. And I do not miss it at all. Such a badly designed anal toy. It might have worked for vaginal play. But you cant clean it properly to switch between the 2. This is one toy I wish we never tried.
