That Hit the Spot!

The P-Spot was my first introduction to a prostate massager. After I heard and read about Stronger Erections and more Powerful Climaxes from using these toys I wanted to try one. I was not disappointed!! This toy absolutely knocked my socks off the first time I used it! This one will be kept close and get lots of use; I LOVE it.

Use

The P-Spot is a knubby silicone toy with a smooth surface designed for prostate stimulation. The toy is meant to be anally inserted and then manipulated by rocking or twisting to stimulate the prostate gland. The P-Spot can be used solo or with a partner and in fact with a significant other manipulating this toy my hands are freed up for other activities! Solo use can be a challenge as it has a tendency to slip out left on its own. The use of a prostate stimulator can lead to stronger, more powerful erections and greater amounts of ejaculate as the prostate gland is excited. The P-Spot has a rounded tip to allow for easy insertion. When it arrived I was a little disappointed by its smallish looking size. I was in for a surprise! Prostate play is new to me and the sensations produced by this were very different from other anal toys I've used. More on that later. The stimulator has a wide base, so it is safe to use in my (or your!) bottom. The packaging states that this toy was "designed specifically to massage the prostate", but the shape of this toy and its dimensions reminds me of G-spot toys I have seen. If one wanted to try using this in that fashion be aware that the flexibility of the P-Spot would probably preclude any strong pressure on the G-spot.

Material / Texture

The P-Spot is manufactured by Doc Johnson from their Premium (Platinum Grade) Silicone right here in the U.S of A. Silicone is a very safe material being hypo-allergenic and has none of the phthalates (BAD chemicals) of some other materials, so its safe for your body. Eden Fantasys' safety index for silicone is 10, the safest, most inert material. Silicone is non-porous and holds heat (or stays cool) very nicely. This material generally has no smell or taste and the P-Spot is no exception. In my opinion the Doc Johnson silicone material is very high quality and compares favorably to other premium grade silicones. The toy itself was very nicely molded with no harsh seams or flaws.

Silicone can be used with all water based lubes. Silicone toys can be "spot tested" with silicone lube to see whether or not the toy and lube are compatible. The P-Spot is safe to use with Ride silicone lube by Sliquid. The toy is very smooth and shiny, but the texture (unlubed) is a bit "grabby" to the touch.

The toy is bendable but not overly floppy - it holds its own weight very nicely, but can be bent completely in half. This bendability allows for easy insertion as it follows your inner contours. The P-Spot is somewhat giving if you squeeze it, but really is more firm than not. The feel is excellent for a toy going into my sensitive ass - not too firm, not too soft! It's like a Goldilocks toy!!

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the P-Spot is what first caught my eye and intrigued me! The gentle curve of the toy reminds me of a finger, a LARGE finger! That and the pronounced "knuckles" on the outside were exciting to see and exciting to imagine going up my butt.

Full Height

When the toy arrived I was disappointed at first to see what I thought was a "smaller" size than what I had expected. The manufacturer claims 5.1" and the EF website says 5" overall length. If you measure along the curve this is true. The tip is nicely rounded and is circular and just about 3/4" wide. The two bulges of the P-Spot come quickly; the first being 1 1/4" x 1" (oval shaped) with the second going to nearly 1 1/2 x 1 1/4"! This all happens in the span of four inches. Whew! There are probably better choices (a little smaller!) if this is to be your first anal adventure toy. Beyond the final knob the neck narrows to 1 1/4 x 1 1/4" which leads to the flared base (2 1/2" wide for safety).

Side View

The shape is supposed to curve to rest right on the prostate gland so that the P-Spot can be either rocked or gently moved back and forth to excite your p-spot. The toy should be inserted with the curve pointing up toward the body, not down away. You can really feel the individual bulges as this is inserted. The final hump was a bit of a struggle at first, but I definitely knew when I go to it and I definitely knew when it was in. While the bulges were noticeable the toy itself is very smooth so there was no additional stimulation/distraction/aggravation from rough textures.

This item looks a lot like a sex toy; not very discreet. Keep this out of sight of curious kids and nosy aunts.

Performance

The first time I tried to use the P-Spot I was going to wear it in to go shopping!! My wife was waiting and she didn't know that I was going to try to do this, so I was in a hurry. I was disappointed in that the toy didn't seem to want to stay in very well. I had a mental picture of the P-Spot falling out of my shorts onto the floor of the supermarket and decided not to make this the maiden voyage! Later on that day I had some time when no one else was home - now for it! I lubed up the P-Spot and attempted to insert it. I say attempted, because at first I couldn't get it in. I'm no size queen, but no newbie either. I added more lube and set my mind to the task at hand. I immediately had a tremendous erection. After some working I finally got it in all the way in to the base and WOW! As I rocked it back and forth and gently moved it in and out it began to cause a kind of contraction that I could feel all the way through my cock. In the span of under a minute with minimal stroking I had an earth shaking orgasm with a ridiculous amount of cum! I couldn't believe it. This worked great!

I have found out since that it just will not stay in on its own and so it is not a good choice for long term wear. The base does have a slight concavity that will cause some mild suction to a smooth surface, but this is really not made to be a suction toy. I suppose with the flared base you could use it in a harness, but I'm not sure how good thrusting would be with this toy. It does what it is supposed to do very well.

Care and Maintenance

One of the best things about silicone toys is the easy care and maintenance. Silicone can be cleaned by hot water and soap, 10% bleach solution, toy cleaner, boiling for three minutes, spit shine - whatever is your choice. These can be run in the dishwasher in the top rack. The P-Spot can be used with any water based lube and is safe with some high quality silicone lubes. PLEASE do a spot check before using any amounts of silicone lube.

Some Doc Johnson toys, like the P-Spot, have Sil-a-gel added to them. The manufacturer's website states that Sil-A-Gel is an anti-bacterial compound added to the raw material for the toy. It is supposed to reduce/eliminate bacterial buildup. While not a substitute for regular, thorough cleaning it is an added health safety feature.

The downside to silicone is that it attracts dust, hair and other detritus like nobody's business. It is easy to wash off, but cat hair can be a real turn off in the heat of passion, so I store this in a Ziploc bag after washing and drying to help keep it clean.

Packaging

The packaging of the P-Spot is a typical clear plastic shell type case and the contents are plainly visible. There is no guessing as to what is contained, so there is no amount of discretion with the packaging. The plastic is a type "3" which can be recycled in most areas. It is not meant for long term storage and would not make a very attractive gift package on its own. There is the ad copy inside of the package, but no detailed instructions for use or care. There is some instruction on how to register your P-Spot for warranty purposes.

Packaging

For a prostrate massager newcomer (no pun intended) like me, use instructions for prostate massage can be found online. And we all know if it wasn't true it wouldn't be on the internet, would it? Really, there is a lot of helpful info out there on this subject, but a lot of nonsense too, so be sensible.

Personal comments

I was really excited when I saw this toy advertised and for the most part I wasn't disappointed. The craftsmanship, materials, design and functionality were "spot" on. The only drawback I personally found was that the P-Spot wouldn't stay all the way in by itself. I'm sure if the neck at the base were a little thinner this could be accomplished. Who knows, maybe if they make it thinner the base breaks off and you have to lie to the ER doc about how you "accidentally" sat on it or something. I dunno.

All in all it is a very fine product.
Follow-up commentary
This toy is still a lot of fun! I really like it and it stays close by. The only minor drawback is that it does have a tendency to slip out - it still does that, but it's more a stimulator than a plug, anyways.
