I bought the Groove because I was interested in trying an anal toy that could be used for thrusting, and it didn't look like it would be too big or intimidating. I didn't expect to receive a toy that was so versatile. The Groove can be used for thrusting, as a plug, or it can be pulled out slowly like beads. The Groove is great for beginners and can be used solo or with a partner.

The Groove is made from premium platinum silicone, and is phthalates free and hypo-allergenic. It has a smooth feel, but not a glossy smooth. Because of this, it does feel a little bit sticky which could attract lint, but I feel this makes it easier to get a grip on the toy and keep it in. It is very flexible and squishy. Because of how flexible it is, it can be a little difficult to get the tip inserted without help, whether from a partner or your other hand. I feel the color is very interesting. Rather than a solid color, the one I chose is a silvery grey with darker swirls throughout. It doesn't have very much of an odor, nor does it seem, at least to me, to retain any unpleasant odors after being used.

When I first got the Groove, I felt that is was a little too short. After using it however, I think it's the perfect length. I can only get down to the beginning of the last bulb, and it still feels amazing.

The Groove is 7" long with an insertable length of 6". it has five bulbs spaced along the shaft. The bulbs range in size from about the size of a marble at the tip, to a little smaller than a golf ball at the bottom. The largest bulb has a circumference of 4 3/4" The size increase between the first and third bulb is gradual, with a slight jump between the third and fourth. This makes it perfect for beginners because they can still use the first three, then eventually move up to the fourth, and then the fifth.

If you don't want anyone to know you like to stick things up your butt, don't let anyone see this, ever. This toy is not discreet at all.

The thing that blew me away about the Groove, is that it's pretty much three toys is one. It can be inserted, then pulled out slowly like beads. The bulbs increase in size gradually enough that it can be used comfortably for thrusting, and the last two bulbs are big enough to keep it in like a plug. This makes it a perfect toy for beginners, and anyone into anal play who doesn't yet know what kind of toys they want to try.

Because the groove is made of silicone, it is non-porous and easy to clean. You can wash it with warm water and soap, or on the top rack of your dishwasher. If you want to share, you can sterilize it by boiling, or with a 10% bleach solution. Water-based lube should be used with this toy, since silicone lubes can break down silicone products. I store it in the package it came in. Whether in the package, or a bag, it should be stored so it doesn't come in contact with other toys. The Doc Johnson name is carved into the base of the toy, which could be difficult to clean if anything got down into it.

The Groove comes in a plastic clamshell package with a cardboard insert. The insert has a silver swirly design on the front, and the back has manufacturer and product information.

My experience with the Groove so far has been amazing. The first time I used it, it took a few tries to insert because of how much it bends. I'm only able to take it in to the beginning of the last bulb, but I don't mind since it gives me something to look forward too. After I got it in I tried slowly pulling it out. It was interesting and pleasant to feel each bulb as I pulled it out. I then tried both slow and quick thrusting, which felt great. I could slightly feel the tip hitting my prostate, making it even better. The next time I used it, I left it in as a plug during sex. While just being in felt good, it got even better when she was on top. The movement from the two of us made the Groove move around a bit inside me. It felt especially good with the fifth bulb stimulating the rim of my anus. All in all, this is a great toy, and so far one of my favorites. It certainly makes me more enthusiastic to keep trying different anal toys.
