An Extraordinarily Typical Blindfold

This is an extraordinarily typical blindfold. While there's nothing horribly wrong with it, I would say when you are considering whether or not to buy this blindfold, the decision should really come down to how you like its appearance. If the brightly colored decorative studs suit your fancy, I would pounce on this as a pretty great buy! If not though, I would move on to other blindfolds which do their intended job more effectively.

Use

Believe it or not, this product is used for what almost every blindfold before it was used for. The See No Evil Blindfold by PicoBong is very basic, but it does a fair job at what it's supposed to; keeping one partner from seeing what's coming next. This means that it's excellent for sensory play, because it lets the wearer focus solely on physical sensations, and take sight out of the equation.

I wouldn't limit it to sensory play though, I think this would also be a good option for couples who are either interested in beginning to explore the world of bondage, or only enjoy very light variations of it. Because of the product's very comfortable feel and easy going appearance, I feel it's much easier to get accustomed to than your traditional leather studded bondage gear. At the same time though, it still restricts the vision of one partner, and thus puts the other partially in control. We all have to start somewhere, and this might not be a bad place for some.

That being said, while this would be great for beginners, I'm not sure how advanced users would like this product. It doesn't block out light like some larger blindfolds do, and doesn't fasten as well as other blindfolds do either, so I believe it may leave more experienced users craving more effective features.

This blindfold also doubles as an excellent sleeping mask for those who need one.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

This blindfold has a very ordinary structure, a long band with two extended areas to cover the eyes. The maker of this blindfold tried to spice things up by sewing plush neon studs onto the front of the mask. These bright studs are extremely soft, so you don't need to worry about damaging anything with them. Unfortunately, while the large section of studs is sewn down tightly towards the middle, it is less so around the edges, meaning the studs on the outside can be peeled up rather easily. Since the middle area is secure though, there's little to no chance of any of these studs falling off. Also, the studs always return to their place after being peeled up. While you can see the stitching from the studs on the inside on the blindfold, it is not uncomfortable against your face/eyes.

In terms of measurements, the band is about 25" long, and a little over 1" wide at its thinnest point. It stretches out to over 3" wide where it covers the eyes.

The blindfold is held together by two strips of Velcro in the back. Personally, this isn't my preferred method of securing a blindfold. While by no means does it fall off, I always have the feeling that the blindfold isn't secured well enough. Not the mention the sound of ripping Velcro isn't conducive to many bedroom activities.

Unfortunately, because the blindfold is not elastic, you need to make sure that this product is in your range before buying it. Each Velcro strip is about 2" long, which means you have about 4" of overall wiggle room. So, your head needs to be between 20-25" around in order for this to fit. While this seems like a fairly narrow range, this size will actually fit almost all buyers. Always better safe than sorry though, so you should measure first.

This blindfold is made from 100% neoprene, which in my opinion is a great thing; it's soft (actually squishy on this blindfold), flexible (but not very stretchy) comfortable to wear, and very easy to clean. Since neoprene is not very porous, Eden Fantasies suggests that you only need to wash it with a damp/wet cloth to clean it. No soap or toy cleaner needed.

Performance

It's very difficult to get a perfect blindfold that doesn't cover most of your face. Since everyone has different facial features, most blindfolds with this design (a thin strap with two enlarged areas for the eyes) leave some room for light to get in, and this product is no different. That being said though, it does completely block out oncoming light like it's supposed to, and only leaves a thin sliver of light directly below your eyes. Anyone who has worn a blindfold before knows what I mean.

The Velcro lived up to expectations in keeping the blindfold in place. They weren't very high expectations. The Velcro holds up fine for light play, but it's still fairly easy to tug a bit too hard and have the whole thing fall right off. It does make the blindfold very easy to put on/take off, though.

Packaging

The packaging for this blindfold was absolutely bizarre. I can only assume it was inspired by children's flotation devices, or someone got their hands on a huge over stock of pool toys. You can see what the packaging looks like in the stock photos. Made of clear and blue plastic, the package has a large center pocket for the blindfold and is surrounded by smaller cells, one of which has an air valve (like on a beach ball) for you to blow into... just in case? You get the blindfold out of the package via a small slit on the back, which took me a moment to find, because it's covered by a sticker which says the product's name, what it's made of, and how to contact the makers. Personally, I find this packaging entirely too annoying to use as permanent storage, and would not give it as a gift unless your friends have a strange sense of humor.

Personal comments

Personally, this isn't the first blindfold that I would purchase... but who am I to turn down free sex toys in exchange for an honest review? So, while this isn't my favorite new accessory, that doesn't mean it doesn't have the potential for you. It works just as well as any other blindfold, and it definitely is comfortable. My only issue with it is that this blindfold isn't exactly suited to my tastes, and I already own blindfolds which I like more.
Follow-up commentary
Admittedly, we don't own a whole lot of blindfolds - actually, the only other one we do own is the Black Rose blindfold (also purchased on Eden). While that one may be prettier, whenever we want to use a real blindfold, this is definitely the way we go. The silk ties on the other one slip and slide off too easily, but the See No Evil blindfold is pretty reliable about staying on, which is ultimately is what you're looking for here. I just just wish the black one was available when I got mine!
