Gated barbed wire flogger - whip discontinued by Ruff doggie styles - review by requiem dreams

The gated barbed wire flogger by Ruff Doggy Styles is not a toy I would recommend for beginners. I would recommend it for intermediate to advanced users who know that they are into pain, as this flogger can cause a good deal of pain. Though, for someone who likes pain, this a wonderful toy to add to your collection as it is so unique.

The handle measures nine inches long and is red and black leather weaved together in a checkered pattern. The inside of the handle feels like a wooden handle of sorts, which is fairly common in whip making. The only problem that I had with the handle was how it was weighted - to me it didn't balance well with the weight of the falls. The top and bottom part of the handle do not have the checkered pattern, rather they have black leather weaved around them.

The gated barbed wire flogger has a mix of twelve braided leather falls and thirty six red suede falls. The falls each measure about twenty-one inches in length. Each of the twelve braided leather falls have about six barbs, and all of the barbs measure about two inches long. When in use, the falls do tend to get tangled, so you have to stop every so often to untangle them. I couldn't feel the suede falls when it was in use, but rather the bite from the barbs. This is a flogger that will leave marks and scratches. I had blood drawn when my partner wasn't even being too hard.

Since this can draw blood, I would not share it with people. Leather is a porous material and can not be sanitized. If you are going to share it with someone, I would recommend it being someone with whom you are fluid-bound. The only person besides myself that has had this used on them is my partner, and we are fluid-bound already, so we aren't worried so much about getting our blood mixed together.

This came packaged in a clear plastic sleeve with a cardboard tag attached to it. Since it was see through, it wasn't exactly discreet, but it was minimal and I like that in packaging. I liked that the flogger was kept straight as well.

I had been lusting over this flogger for months, but every time I could afford to purchase it, it was out of stock. On Valentines Day, my partner surprised me with it. He had ordered it and had them gift wrap it for me in pretty red paper that matched my new flogger. I hadn't taken the plastic sleeve off the flogger before I could smell the familiar scent of leather, and at this point I was beyond excited to try my new flogger.

I am someone that knows my pain limits, and I begged to not have a warm up with another toy beforehand. I wanted to see how it felt with his lightest swings to his hardest, and I wanted this experience to be purely of this toy. The first swing stung quite badly and did leave a mark, and as the swings got harder, the marks became scratches. After about an hour, I had scratches that were bleeding. I had never quite had an experience like the one that I had with this flogger. Though I couldn't directly feel the suede falls, they did create a similar thud to that of a heavy flogger.
