We all know what whips are for. But what you might not know, is that different materials can feel extremely different. For example: If you have a whip with rubber tassels, you are more likely to feel a sharp sting (think: getting snapped with a rubberband). But if you have one made out of leather, you are more likely to feel a thud (think: getting snapped with a towel).

Although this whip is completely leather, you get the best of both worlds. Due to it's size and weight, I'd say that this is more for advanced users. I'm plenty experienced, and I pulled this out of the box, and my eyes got huge.

There are a few things I feel the need to point out right off the bat. The first is the size. It says the whip is 30 inches long, but I don't think you can really realize how long that is until you see it in perspective:



That is a ONE LITER pop bottle it's sitting next to! And at 15 oz, that's almost a pound! This thing is pretty heavy.

The second thing is the quality. To me, from the pics on EF, I thought that the regular tassels were leather, and the ones that looked like barbed wire were probably plastic. That is not the case. Everything, including the handle, is made out of leather. And, of course, it smells like leather.

This will definitely last a long time. It's very well made. This is the top of the handle, where the wrist strap is, and the inside of the handle:

If marks equal performance, this gets an A. A while ago, I read somewhere that you should always practice with an impact toy before you use it on someone. At the time, I had a crop that I was experienced with, and a cheap rubber whip that was about half the size of this one. I didn't understand why anyone would need practice. But after seeing and feeling this, it's easy to understand. I was very intimidated, and to manage to properly aim and hit with something so long takes practice. But once you get the hang of it, it will become a favorite.

If you should need to clean it, just use some warm water. Don't go throwing it in the dishwasher, or anything crazy like that.
