Measuring at about 1 7/8 inches long, each individual clamp opens and closes by simply squeezing the clamps together to achieve your desired mouth size, from completely closed (giving you 1.5 mm of a space) to opening as wide as 1 inch of space. Releasing the clamps causes them to automatically clamp back down and tighten around your nipple. Each clamp's width is controlled by a simple twist screw that allows you to control how tight it squeezes around your nipple. Twist clockwise to loosen the clamps and allow plenty of room to comfortably choose your desired pressure. Once you have the clamps to a safe and free width, place on your nipples and slowly turn the screw counterclockwise until you've reached your desired pressure. Starting loose eliminates too much pain from it being immediately too tight around your sensitive nipples.

The metal screw is back far enough to safely allow adjustment and not pinch at your nipples. The tips of each clamp are indeed jagged like alligator teeth, but are safely covered, to prevent unwanted damage, with rubber caps. These caps are easily removable if you do prefer to not use them. These clamps, bare, are not suggested for beginners or for the genital areas, since misuse without the caps, mixed with too much pressure, can cause bleeding. The main benefit of these being removable is that it makes for easy cleaning.

Each clamp is connected to the other with a 12.75 inch long metal chain. The chain is quite thick and very durable, much resembling a chain dog collar. It is enough to add a little bit of weight to the clamps while in use, and can add more pressure when pulled.

Asides from the black removable tips which seem to be a rubber/plastic material, these are made fully out of metal, which is phthalate-free and has a firm, smooth texture. It is shiny and has a high density, usually has a high melting point, and retains heat well. Being metal, these are able to be boiled or bleached to be sanitized, or you can simply used soap and water or any toy cleaner. Be sure they are fully dried after every use to avoid rust.

Another great thing about metal is it does carry vibrations nicely. To add to your nipple plan, you can apply some vibrations to the clamps and heighten your already sensitive nipples. You can either add to the tips of your squeezed nipples, or even just touch the metal itself. With a toy that has nice vibrations, you can simply use that to apply the pressure on the chain and send vibrations up to both nipples.

These clamps easily ball up and fit within my closed fist, which make them very easy to store and travel with.

These were my first set of nipple clamps, and my only complaint is that sometimes they can be difficult to apply to where they don't slip off sometimes while applying pressure. They are great for giving that nice squeeze, but I myself do not like them being painfully tight, which can sometimes cause the clamps to slip off if I apply too much pull to them. I tried using them clitorially, but I just could not get a good grip for myself.

The clamps do come in both pink and blue; mine were silver.

Even after having them for so long, these are still holding up very well! A different pair I had fell apart after a few months, but not these! They are very easy to use and can be adjusted to your desired pressure.
