Rubber tickler - tickler discontinued by Sportsheets - review by Airen Wolf

I stared and stared at the Rubber Tickler by Sportsheets for what seemed like forever but couldn't make up my mind to buy the toy. Then I got the Rouge Latex Whip as a review item and promised that I would be more open in the future to rubber whips, floggers and ticklers. So taking a large breath I ordered this pretty little tickler.

The Rubber Tickler is a pretty substantial piece despite the look of it on the site. It offers over 100 thin rubber falls that measure 8 inches unstretched. The falls tangle easily and will stretch much like any thin rubber band will under stress. The user will want to store the toy with the falls as straight as possible to avoid kinking. I have found a large mouth vase works wonders for my ticklers and it looks pretty cool sitting on my dresser. A plastic shoe hanger can work for those players who need absolute discretion, simply arrange the ticklers so that the stick can be easily grasped and the falls can lay as straight as possible. The falls have a light rubber smell that isn't overpowering and didn't bother even Arch's sensitive nose.

The falls are attached to the handle via a firm rubber cup and they are very firmly attached. They are more likely to snap in half rather than detach from the cup. However, the cup, itself, will pull off the handle if you tug too hard! It slides back together easily and doesn't come off during even vigorous play. If the user is worried about the top getting lost a drop of glue will solve the problem permanently. The handle of the toy is made of a small barrel, flexible, black, PVC tube with a rubber handle to add some bulk and comfort for the hand. This rubber handle will also detach easily from the toy possibly necessitating another drop or two of glue. I have never had it come off during play so I haven't worried about it overly. The handle measures roughly 15 inches from the top of the rubber cup to the base. It is flexible enough to be a great little crop though the user should be aware that it can cause some significant bruising and welting.

Given the materials this toy is made of it can be used in wet environments though I dont know how fun that'd be. Play parties or private bedrooms are suitable for this toy but it's not terribly discreet for travel. To turn a potential negative into a positive you could remove the rubber grip and flogger cup and store them where prying eyes are unlikely to look and store the handle as though it were simply a part of your luggage. Personally, I dont bother since I figure the inspection officer will be more embarrassed that I will ever be!

Though this can cause some pretty good welts it is not likely to break the skin, in fact, it really isn't meant to be used for harsh impact play. The user could wash the entire toy in warm water and mild soap, if needed, and allow it to drip dry. I recommend that if you leave your tickler sitting out for a few weeks that it be shaken vigorously outside to dislodge any dust.

The falls will pick up a static charge but I found sliding them gently through a folded over dryer sheet or spraying lightly with a static removal product works to keep them from looking like a science project.
Store the toy out of direct sunlight to prevent the strands from stretching and warping.

If you have a latex or rubber allergy take care as this could excite an allergic response in sensitive individuals.

In use the Tickler does exactly what it's name implies...it tickles! I love to use the tickler as a prelude to play or as a light flogger just to lightly wake up the nerves. It is also amazing after a heavier flogging as a sensual brushing of the excited nerves. After tying one of the guys up and blindfolding them I love to snake the rubber strands over his genitals. The strands stay a delicious cool temperature and have a singularly wicked feel when they are doubled over themselves and slowly twirled around the skin of sensitive areas.

The Tickler is amazing for breast play and if your victim is tied with their arms outstretched it can lend itself to sensual tickling torture. Truly this is a versatile toy limited only by the users imagination.
It can impart a very sharp stinging blow with some force and the handle makes a pretty credible crop making it perfect for budding Dom/mes on a budget. Pair with a set of cuffs and a blindfold and it's a whole evening's entertainment.
For the price it would be worth picking up two or more just to increase the sensation and multiply what you can do!

This is probably one of the most unusual ticklers I own. The strands are subject to pulling, twisting and tangling but it's such a fun toy I forgive it. So long as you store the toy with the rubber strands hanging down they will hold up and not fray. It can't stand hard use or direct sunlight well. On the other hand it can be washed in warm water and mild soap, which is a good thing if it sits for a while. it can pick up dust and a good rinsing with water and soap can restore any dulling on the rubber strands.
