This crop is great for beginners. It's pretty, has a larger surface (impact) area, and is dual purpose in that the handle doubles as an insertable. It's weighted nicely and is fairly easy to maneuver. You won't be able to use this in heavy play because it just isn't designed for hard impact play.

If you are just beginning with impact play, this is a great toy to start with. Be sure, if you are a beginner, to practice your landing points on the butt. Crops can generally be used on any fleshy area of the body. This particular crop has a pretty flexible neck, so a simple flick of the wrist can create a nice "smack."

I wouldn't suggest that this be used for long swings unless you are a little more experienced, as the flexible neck does affect the level of control. Less flexible necks are easier for inexperienced players, as they are easier to control.

I like the design and love the beauty of the glass handle. It IS very fashionable. For light/medium impact play this is great, but if you are into a little harder play, it might not hold up that well. I had mine for several months, but it was broken during a play party.

It's 19" from tip to tip with a wide leather crop tip measuring 4" across (less stingy impact).

The neck is of flexible, woven metal, and the handle is 5.75" glass with a beautiful design. Again, the glass handle is smooth and can be used for insertion.

These features do make it dual purpose for some light bdsm play.

Again, during light impact play, this was great fun. The larger crop tip gives the receiver less of a stingy feel than does the more narrow tip of other crops. If you prefer the stingy sensations, this one might not be on the top of your list, but regardless, it would still serve the purpose of a great warm-up. The leather of the tip appeared to be of good quality; it didn't break or shrink during my love affair with this crop.

The handle was very beautiful; it did take a moment to get used to the flexibility of the neck, however. We always have enjoyed a more rigid neck, as it is easier to control, though we are looking at another crop that is similar in flexibility to this particular crop.

This crop won't really leave any lasting marks, as it seemed to me to be only fit for light to medium spank and tickle sessions. Perhaps we play a little rough with our toys though.
