It's best to glue them on. The clamp's chain is sturdy and is great for tugging on. The chain isn't too heavy, but my partner tells me it's heavy enough to have a slight, nice pull when standing. On each clamp is a little plastic ring that slides along the length of the clamp to adjust tightness.
