Fun with a leash

If you're new to petplay or are just looking for a beginner collar, this one isn't bad. You get what you pay for, but it's really good for someone who doesn't want to dish out the money on a really expensive collar only to find out that they don't like collars. The leash that comes with this is also pretty nice. It's bright red, and I really love it.

Use

This collar and leash set is perfect for anyone who's into petplay, or just wearing a collar in general. The collar is about 2" tall though, so if you're like me and have a shorter neck, it could be pretty uncomfortable. The collar has a D-ring at the bottom that the leash easily clips onto so you can be a good pet as you're lead around the house.

It might not be the most durable collar though. And the way it closes means it could be easily popped off. It has three prongs spaced about an inch apart, and three holes also spaced about an inch apart. All you do to close it is pop one of the holes over one of the prongs. If you're into harder play, this might not be for you. It doesn't lock or anything like that.

It would probably be good for beginners who are starting out, because it's a cheaper collar and it's easy to use and wear. It also comes with a leash, that can continue to be used even if you upgrade collars.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The collar is made of vinyl. It's a very bright red color that I found pretty appealing. The edge of it is lined in black vinyl. The inside of the collar has a nice, soft material. It feels like a softer felt or something like that. On the front of the collar is a decent sized D-ring. It's about an inch wide, and not too thick. The leash can easily slip onto it.

Closing the collar is a little strange. Especially if you're used to buckles. It has three prongs attached to the collar and three holes. They're spaced about an inch apart. To close the collar you have to pop a hole onto one of the prongs. So there's some size adjustment, but not very much. It's also pretty easy to just pop the collar off, which means it's not great for really rough play of any kind.

Something that bothers me with the craftsmanship is that the holes in the collar don't have any kind of reinforcement around them, so the edges are kind of falling apart. The red vinyl is rubbed off around the edges, showing a white material. Other than that though, it's not too bad. But it's about what you would expect for under $10.

It's about 2" wide, so if you have a small neck like me, it might be uncomfortable to wear.

The leash is just like a small sized dog leash. It's about a half inch wide and just has a small clip on the end. It would fit on most smaller D-rings, but definitely not some of the thicker ones. Think of it as a leash you would walk a very small dog or a cat on. It's the same very bright red as the collar, and that's what originally appealed to me. The collar wasn't that great, but the leash is really nice and I want to use it more when I get a collar that I really love.

Performance

I wasn't very thrilled about the collar at all. My neck is stubby, so it didn't fit very comfortably. And around the "button holes" is all torn up. I've only tried it on a couple times, so I can't imagine what kind of shape it would be in if I wanted to wear it a lot.

It's really bright though, and would look great in a photo shoot or something like that, but I wouldn't suggest it for every day use.

The leash is nice though. It doesn't have any rips or any frayed edges or anything. I'm actually more happy with the leash than I am with the collar.

Care and Maintenance

You can wash it off with warm water and soap. Or even a toy cleaner or baby wipe. It's not very hard to keep it clean though.

You can store it anywhere really.
