Do you want your lover on a short leash? Of course you do, because tying your love to the bed doesn’t quite give you the same amount of control as having them by the neck. Nothing says “I am completely dominating you” more than pulling them around wherever you want them. However, I would probably only recommend Sex and Mischief's leash and collar set for beginners on a tight budget. The price is nice and low, and the material is what would be expected. It works for light BDSM, but may not hold up to the wear and tear of more intense sessions. Also, unless you have a long, thick neck, it may be uncomfortable.

I can say that I was rather unimpressed by the aesthetics of this collar, but again, you get what you pay for. The collar is made of shiny (wishes it could be leather) red PVC, with black PVC edging. The PVC fabric wrinkles rather easily. The wrinkles don’t seem to come out, which doesn’t matter much to the function of the collar, only the aesthetics. The inside of the collar is lined with soft but obviously fake-feeling red velboa. The leash is made of nylon, very much like your average pet leash. The hardware is all silver colored and is labeled as nickel-free. There are three silver colored “buttons” that look kind of like Sorry! pieces. The buttons punch through holes on the opposite end of the collar quite easily, but can be moderately difficult to unbutton. One nice thing about this collar is that it doesn’t look terribly intimidating for beginners.

The first thing I noticed about the Sex & Mischief collar is that it is VERY wide(2 ¼ inches). Also, it seems to be really loose on me. It has a minimum circumference of about 15 inches, my neck is 12 inches. I can almost fit my chin into it just by tucking my head. I HIGHLY suggest measuring your neck circumference if this will bother you to see if it fits correctly (average neck circumference for women: 14.8; for men: 15.7). The maximum circumference is about 18 inches.

I'd say the collar excels most in its durability, which doesn't necessarily say much. It fastens nicely, and doesn't seem like it will come unbuttoned. It can handle some pretty strong tugs as well. I have only had it for a few weeks, however, and do not know how long it will hold up to the rough play that I am into. If used gently, it may last a long time.

On me, it is rather uncomfortable because it is so wide and loose, but it may be better fitted on others. Like I previously mentioned, measure yourself before buying.

I bought this collar last minute on a whim. I actually had considered going to pet store and buying a collar just to try it out until I could save up enough for a nice leather collar. The main reason I went for this collar is because it is my favorite color, red. I was disappointed at how wide and uncomfortable this collar was for me. Also, it is such a bright, tacky red. I would not want to be seen in public in this collar. I highly doubt I will use this collar again after I buy a nicer one, but I'll hold on to the leash. Even if I don't use it in the bedroom it might make a nice pet leash.
