His Cup Runneth Over...

I was sadly disappointed with this item. I had high hopes, but there just aren't many ways to play with this product, or perhaps I am just not that creative. It didn't help that I found myself laughing more than getting aroused.

Use

The Elastabind Jockstrap Restraint is intended for couples who wish to add some light BDSM to their bedroom play. Ideally, this could best be used accompanied with a collar, leash or a blindfold. By itself, we were at a loss as to what to do with this and I very much thought, "Ok, he looks ridiculous, but he can't lay down without laying on his hands, he can't do anything, other than stand, walk, or kneel". I would have rather had the option of cuffing his hands to the sides of the waistband; opening up the option for him to lay down, so I could sit on his face or something of that nature or even allowing me the option to flog his buttocks without his hands being in the way.

I was intrigued with the idea of having my husband restrained, ready to do my bidding, but when it actually came right down to it, I was amused by the site of him spilling out from this tiny little thing everywhere.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

When I initially saw the picture on the box, I was excited and thought this product could be a lot of fun. The idea of having my husband in a completely submissive posture was erotic, since that rarely happens, and now we had to try it for research sake!!!

However, when I removed it from its packaging, I was disappointed by the quality of the craftsmanship. It looks hastily constructed with loose threads at nearly every seam. There is even a 1/8 - 1/4 inch area in the stitching where it looks as if there had been a mishap with the sewing machine and the bobbin. The stitching holding the wrist cuffs to the waistband is not very sturdy. It looks and feels as if the seams might part with one good tug. If it were used more than half a dozen times and managed to be completely intact, I would be surprised.

The waistband, leg straps (the ones that attach at the base of the pouch to the waistband), and wrists cuffs are black made of an elastic-type material called Elastabind. It looks like normal elastic, but is more comfortable against the skin and does not pinch or grab hair like regular elastic can. The support pouch feels like it is made of some sort of poly-blend material. It is very soft and even lined for maximum comfort. My husband said this when describing how it felt against his skin, "The pouch feels really nice. The material is soft; too bad there isn't more of it."

That brings us to the fit.

The waistband of this garment is 2 1/2" wide, 30" around and has the ability to stretch to 66", albeit uncomfortably I am sure. The cuffs are 5" long, and are 7" in circumference. I measured the pouch from the bottom of the waistband to the material's end and it comes in at a mere 8 1/4".

The box states, "one size fits most". I am giving my husbands measurements, so you can compare and decide if this product might work better for you or not. He is 73" tall and has a wing span of 76". He weighs in, just shy of 190 lbs. His waist measures 34", his wrists are 7 1/4" and his forearms are 8 1/2".

My husband had three major complaints about the fit of the garment. The first being the wrist straps. They are not graduated from your wrist to your forearm and they do not allow for much stretch since they are 5" wide. Within just a few minutes of having his wrists in the cuffs, he was complaining that his fingertips were going numb. When I inspected his hands, they were purplish; it was obvious when I looked at the cuff around his forearm that the Elastabind was entirely too tight. I realize the design of this product is to restrain and constrict, but I do not think it was intended to cut off circulation to the hands.

The second complaint was he felt like (and in my opinion, looked like) he was spilling out of the pouch - out the sides, out the top - into the waistband area, and out of the bottom. He kept trying to tuck himself in. I couldn't help but giggle at the site of him trying to stay contained and having no luck doing so. He wanted to make sure I mentioned that he is a grower, not a show-er and that he was completely flaccid during this attempt. We believe most men would have the same issue with the pouch and certainly those whom consider themselves to be above average in size.

His third complaint (and I hope this adequately describes our issue since it might not affect everyone equally) was when his hands were in the cuffs, he could not let his shoulders relax (he looked like he was shrugging his shoulders) because if he did his wrists would take the waistband down onto or below his buttocks, completely defeating the purpose of the jockstrap. Herein lies the problem, you see, his arms are freakishly long for his height. A persons wingspan is supposed to be the same as their height. My husband's wingspan is 3" longer than he is tall, creating an inch and a half shrug on each shoulder.

I compared this jockstrap to my husbands regular jockstrap to get an idea of just how small this product really was. I was stunned at the difference! See for yourself:

Sadly, there are no special features, such as a ring to hook a leash onto or a place on the underside of the pouch to tuck a bullet into. That would have been delightful.

Performance

As I stated, this product did not work out very well for us due to the small size of the garment. The wrist cuffs did a fine job restraining his arms and hands, even though they went numb in a short period of time. Due to the small cuff size, restraining the wrists is definitely a two person job and my husband wasn't able to get out of the cuffs without some degree of help. With one hand restrained behind his back he could not push the other one through the cuff without assistance.

The pouch, however, did not contain my husbands balls very well, nor his cock. I seriously had to look for the size on the box. I thought for sure they sent a size small, by mistake. Again, I know this is a "one size fits most" item, but I believe "most" men would have this same problem.

I think this might be better suited as a sling shot or a hat for a pet. I will keep you posted if I find another use for this garment.

Care and Maintenance

There were no care instructions on the box or inside the packaging. There was also no tag on the garment indicating how to care for it. I have been a domestic engineer for 17 years and I consider myself an expert when it comes to the field of garment care and managing the washing machine. That in mind, washing in cold water, with like colors and air drying would be the best way to care for this garment. High heat has a nasty habit of breaking elastic down fairly quickly, and being that much of the product is elastic, special care is needed.

Packaging

The jockstrap came in a box sporting a picture of a man restrained and a naked woman kneeling next to him on the front and three smaller pictures on the back; giving a full 360 degree view of the garment in action. There are no instructions on use or how to care for this item. This could have been very helpful, since I have no idea what it's made of, I am going on assumption when it comes to cleaning it.

It would have been nice to have a positioning guide included to aid those who are not experienced in this kind of play.

Personal comments

I have seen these kinds of garments in our local sex shop before and I was hoping there would be more options with this one, maybe a ring to hook a leash onto or something. There just weren't enough ways to enjoy this product. After just a few minutes of stimulation there was no restraining my husband's penis at all. It had popped out over the top of the waistband all together. Did I mention that I found this get-up amusing?
Follow-up commentary
We tried these once more, after the initial writing of this review. Since then, we have both lost some weight and thought they might fit a little better. Unfortunately, the bindings are just too darned tight on my husband's wrists, for him to wear any longer than two or three minutes. He spills out of the jock, and I have to say, I almost wanted to keep them just for the giggle factor. However, the jockstrap restraints have since found their way to the city dump.

What a shame these were not designed better. They certainly have potential. Thanks for the review.

EXCELLENT REVIEW! They may not work for everyone but I think they might just work for us.

It doesn't sound like a product that works well.

His fingers were turning purplish? It's a NO NO in any BDSM situation. That usually calls for either a Safe Word or the Dom(me) immediately calling an end to the scene or a revision.

I'm sorry this didn't work well for you.

There are better restraints on Eden.

I just want to say that Sports Sheets products are usually better than this.

My review will be out soon, and I just want to say "THANK GOD" I was worried I was the only one with this type of problem. (similar but different product in the same line)

@ P'Gell, I was surprised by this product too. I have several Sportsheets items and luckily, none are constructed like this one was.

@BBW, I look forward to reading your review. Have you posted it yet?

Ugh, while my boyfriend isn't into something like this if he ever is I'll make sure not to get this one! It so won't fit him LOL

    Thanks for the excellent review!

@Jessica Elizabeth, I really don't think this would fit most men. Hopefully Sportsheets will revamp this one.

Good to know about the tightness of the cuffs. Seems like everyone has a different experience with this product but it's definitely not something for people with bigger hands/wrists. Thanks for the warning!
