Love mask - sex toy by Pipedream - review by Zombirella

I originally purchased this mask for the purpose of using it as a sleep mask. If I wake up after the sun comes up I have trouble getting back to sleep with the sun peaking in underneath my curtains. I've been looking for a decent sleep mask for awhile and after watching a video review of this mask I thought it sounded like a good buy. Eh, not so much I found out.
The Love Mask is marketed for Fetish and Bondage play in the bedroom. I haven't explored that part of sexual play yet because I'm not comfortable with it, atleast for now. I am up for using a blindfold and handcuffs though and the more I thought about it while waiting for it to arrive I came to the conclusion that I would try it out on my partner.

For $5.99, you get what you pay for I suppose. After watching that review though I had higher hopes for this mask. It says one size fits all but I found it was quite a tight fit and I don't consider myself to have a big head! I have a head full of thick hair so that could have some affect on the tightness of the mask. It has two straps that fit over your head and hug the back of the head to keep the mask in place. I wore it for a few hours while sleeping and when I woke up and slid it up it took a while for my eyes to focus do to the pressure it had on eyes while on my head. It presses against the eyes but isn't uncomfortable. The shape is decent for the shape of the face and fitting over the nose. As for the craftsmanship, not so sure on that. I only had this for a day and the bottom strap came loose and broke off one end so I just went ahead and cut it off completely. I was honestly considering cutting off one of the straps but that should have been a decision I made, not having to do it because the strap came off. The material is satin and soft feeling but not as comfortable as I would have liked.

I found this mask to work pretty well at blocking out the daylight. I chose the black color just to be sure it would keep things dark. It wasn't uncomfortable to wear while sleeping but it was a bit more snug than I would have liked. I had my partner try it on to see if he would be able to wear it but it was too tight and uncomfortable for him and he didn't like it. I was very disappointed that I had to cut off a broken strap even though I had considered doing it myself before it broke on me. I didn't even have to stretch it far to get it over my head so I don't understand why it broke other than poor craftsmanship and being cheap at $5.99. I guess I'm still on the lookout for a perfect sleep mask, maybe one that ties instead of having the elastic strap. I'm looking at the one EF has with the dragon print but I haven't made a decision.
It serves the purpose when used during sex but I was the only one able to use it because it was too uncomfortable for my partner. It did add a different excitement to the whole sexual experience not knowing what was going to happen next and it seemed to heighten the feeling of things more out of excitement and anticipation of what was to come. But I plan on buying a better quality mask for that purpose as well. I'm torn as to rate it a 1 or a 2 but because it broke on the first night I'm giving it a 1. Just because I had a bad experience with this doesn't mean I'll stop buying Pipedream products, I LOVE my Icicles and they are made very well.

The packaging isn't discreet at all, the box says Fetish Fantasy Series, Satin Love Mask. But out of the box it just looks like a normal sleep mask.
